Are we good? Are we not good? Is our O-line experienced and talented? Is our defense improved?

But for real, to avoid sounding whiny and bitchy- it'll be interesting to see what happens from here. We got BEAT. We left points on the board against a great, really good team. Gave up a bogus TD run that pushed it to 30 points. So it could have been a completely different ballgame and I believe we could've hung with those guys. And make no mistake, ND showed their true colors today- not against Virginia. I know we were saying we wanted to be first to "expose them" and that may happen, but I don't think so.

I'm most concerned about our O line. I don't know why they looked so bad. Last year, they were the rock that held the offense together against the better teams on our schedule.

The best I can hope for is that this game is like the Dook game last year- after that, our offense woke up completely after looking dead. Even against UNC. ND is a far better team than Duke was, so hopefully we can still pull together a great year.

I still think we win the coastal and probably the ACC. At least we lost to somebody I guess. Clemson struggled like hell against unranked Louisville.

Would have been nice to serve notice early in the season on a national stage. Didn't work out. Onward I suppose. I do have concerns on the offense though. I can see a similar result to last year but they have got to get the option going. Today's version ain't it.

Thomas wasn't prepared for the reads tonight. And their DL blew up the line all day

As others have pointed out, that game looked & felt so much like Miami & Iowa 2009.

They won't be exposed until playing a sophisticated passing team.

There is work to be done on offense for sure. The blocking was not good but a lot of that was Notre Dame. Defense is where the 5 stars and recruiting advantages come into play. It is hard to scheme around getting physically beat up front especially with the disciplined and fast linebackers they had. Our wideouts had man coverage and could not get separation. I suspect we are going to see a lot of this scheme in the future if we don't figure out a way to throw the ball.

It really all comes down to our WR play. If we're getting beat on run plays, we need the pass to open up the run. Sadly, it didn't look good in the first two games either.

Disagree. JT had few reads. There is no read when a DL is between the AB & JT, & a LB is about to clock JT.
Not JT's fault. Probably not CPJ's fault either. They're just better, it's cool. Just like Iowa.

Tulane was able to put a lot of pressure on our passing game because of the poor blocking at aback. They have to get better, or we have to start rolling the pocket with the BBack blocking in the direction of the roll. The abacks might as well release, because they aren't blocking anyone.

We are good. Capable of being very good. We are not great. Great teams don't get manhandled in that manner.

And it will frequently feel that way when we are playing teams that have outstanding athletes on defense.
Not blaming, just naming areas of deficiency on our offense. Devine, Klock, Willis, Jeune, Searcy, Marshall, Snoddy, Messick, Skov, Allen,Summers, Stewart . All good players who may become great players one day. But they are young and inexperienced, and most have had limited time in the system. They were up against a bunch of five star athletes, well coached, on the road. That is asking a lot. It is a let down, but I will be more disappointed if we don't fix some things over the next four or five games.

ck the size and experience of our Abacks--190 lb guys blocking very good 235 LBs ,not gonna work much

The could be 690 lbs, if you miss your block, you miss it. They are young and this is football. They will get better just like last year's senior class did. But right now they are a liability.

So you're saying Clem, fla state, georgia, miami, miss state, and va tech didn't have good athletes on defense last year? We left points out there prior to 30 to 7. Could have been 23-20 prior to that long run.
