Chan Gailey - In 6+ seasons at Georgia Tech, Gaily is 40-30 (.571) and if that is acceptable to the people running the Yellow Jacket football program, then so be it. Georgia Tech deserves better though, and the upcoming Miami game will have a big say in the continued employment of Gaily in Atlanta. Lose to Miami on the road, Virginia Tech at home, and Georgia at home and Gaily is out of a job. If he loses those 3 games and keeps his job, then Georgia Tech football is irrelevant.

The last line is the kicker...he is right...if we keep him in that scenario

That would give us at least 6 losses and no bowl game. I agree Gailey would be gone in that scenario; but the more likely scenario is that we will win 1 of those three games minimum, potentially all three. Then what?

winning UGA, VT and Miami....the chances of that are around probably 1%. I am not worried about the then what when we can't beat MD and UVA on the road.

right now, I am worried about beating Duke.

Losing all three would not be characteristic of a Gailey team. We usually get at least one big win each year and I don't think Clemson or ND was it.

yeah, I said winning all three chances are 1%

Winning one of the three...I can buy that. Just not all three.

33,
if he is out of a job how did we get rid of CG and his 4.4M$
contract? I thought we were sucking for $ in the AA? Can we get a new HOT coach for free? nice to dream but reality bites--
33, what about CGs 4.4 M$ contract?

his base salary is only 450k. We don't pay him his perks for radio shows etc etc, that is not part of the buyout.

In turn, the buyout actually is only 450 x 4. Making 1.8 million + any asst coach contracts you have to buyout. The longest ass coach contract is through 2008, so we at max would have to buyout 1 year of those. Avg salary there is around 75-100k. Tenutas is through 08, and is 400k; but we will try to keep him

Kelly's, Hunters, Modkins and other all expire this year I believe we only have 2-3 assts with contracts through 2008.

Bottom line...our buyout is more like 1.8 million. Not 4.4.
