I haven't watched GT Football since Duke 2021

By the time we lost to UVA my full blown apathy towards Clown Shoes had settled in and this year I actively avoided GT Football.

Key's presser has given me a reason to watch because for the first time in three years I think I might get a different kind of football.

I don't think we can beat Pitt, four days doesn't undo three years, but I might see a normal loss with good effort and not some embarassing clown show.

Then again I might be kidding myself. I guess I'll find out Saturday at 8 pm.

From tthe fall of 2004 to late 2020 I was an absolutely rabid Tech fan.

I am an alumnus and I was in the stands for a lot of big games of the last decade and a half. In 2006 my buddy and I stayed up all night just to get into the front row of Gameday for the Notre Game game.

I almost got arrested after the Miracle on Techwood because I shouted "Go home you f***ing losers!" at the FSU coaches when they were coming down from the box after the game.

Before the ACC network I made sure to have the right combination of streaming, broadcast, and cable so I could watch games no matter what.

Don't tell me I'm not a fan.

Not to get into tmi but between sick relatives and small children I just couldn't justify paying attention to GT Football when I knew I was going to get embarassing under performance.

The point I am trying to make is I am exactly the fan you want reengaged. I am watching again because now I finally have a reason to.

It felt implied by being called out for not paying attention to worst Football I am likely to see in my lifetime.

If you dropped out of GT Football in the last year I don't blame you.

Yea, I've been a fan and attending games since the 1970's. I've missed a grand total of 3 home games since Joe Ham.

Now öööö off.

It's just a weird thread to make. You're in a forum full of die hard GT fans who have watched Georgia Tech through thick and thin for at least a decade, and spent the last couple years watching us get our heads bashed in because we love Georgia Tech football and follow it no matter what.

To make a thread to tell all of those people "Yeah, not only was there no reason to watch Georgia Tech the past couple years, but I went out of my way to actively avoid it -- but you should all be excited because I'm going to be watching again!" and expect them to be jazzed about it is unreasonable, even if it is a good thing that non-die hard fans will come back. You have to know your audience.
 
I am old now and can't bring it like I used to, but it used to be "win or lose, we still booze".

Now, if I do too much of that, I feel like a locomotive has run over me.

I know many people who have long histories of being Tech fans, ticket buyers, and contributors who feel exactly as you do. I told my wife last night that this coming Saturday night was the first Tech game I've been this excited about in a long time. Tech needs all the fans to come back to supporting the program. I think you have described how a lot of people felt, and it's important for others to follow your example and come home to full support for Tech football.

I thought the press conference yesterday was great. I could not have asked for more from President Cabrera than what he said. The new interim AD impressed me, too, and Coach Key was a refreshing change. I'm feeling more hopeful about Tech football than I have in a long time. I am anxious to see the game Saturday night.
