2005 - We go into Blacksburg to play VPI ranked 15th and get our asses kicked 51-7

2006 - We go into Death Valley to play Clemson ranked 13th and we are routed (forgot the score b/c I turned it off)

2007 - We play BC @ BDS ranked 15th and get picked apart by an average QB

PLEASE NEVER AGAIN!!!!!:puke:

I dont think the rankings have anything to do with our terrible corners and quarterback

do u actually watch football or are u just a blogger? Since when is Matt Ryan just an avg qb?

I'm not defending the play of our secondary either, but Matt Ryan is a stud. Even if Tech would have shut him down tonight, he would still be a stud.

Avg?????

I hear Pat Clark is being moved from corner back to punter in an attempt to have him fail in every aspect of football ... offense, defense and special teams.

I don't think you'll have to worry about that for the rest of this year.
Why who in the ACC other then Clemson that we play looks better? I'm sorry but we will not lose to teams like UNC, UVA or Maryland. I am not ready to write this team off yet. We will not face another QB this experienced again this season. But Pat Clark never needs to be on the field as a starter ever again. Throw a freshman in there he could not be any worse.

I stand by my position: Ryan is an average QB. It was our porous secondary that made him look good. I think I can prove my point with the fact that he has never led BC to an ACC Championship game.

I think Clark is a lousy DB, but when your offense is predicated on pressuring the QB and you can't budge the OL your DBs are going to get toasted regardless.

What is there left to win ? Besides kicking Georgia while they are down which would be nice, I don't see much else coming together this season except another irrelevant bowl game. If you nearly get shutout at home by a middle road ACC defense you are due for another couple of losses. The ND win, as nice as it was, isn't worth a food stamp right now because they are flat out awful.

Bottom line, they whipped us at both lines- which I found a little surprising. Once we couldn't run our passing game looked bad. Hopefully our QB and receivers can get in rhythm together.

I'm more nervous about our secondary. On the rare occassions that someone consistently stops our blitz package our CBs get toasted.

Obviously, that's the biggest weakness for us. Hopefully, we don't play too many more experienced QBs.

Matt Ryan is good. As Bob Davie said he is the best QB playing in Atlanta.

You can't prove one dang thing. What kind of logic is that? He hasn't won the BCS so he's no good. Rivers never came close to winning the ACC and he's made a few bucks playing football.

Calvin Johnson never led his team to an ACCC either so I guess he's no good.

Ryan is VERY good. We're not as good as I thought but I still think we're 4-1 heading to MD and MIA. 6-2 will easily win our division so as long as we beat the teams in the division, we should be just fine.

In 1998, BC did this to us at home and we went 10-2 that year.

CJ led us to the ACCCG last year. I meant leading to not winning.

Remember one thing: In 1998 we had Joe Hamilton along with our talented receiving corps which included Dez White and others. This year we have Reggie's back-up with a decent receiving corps.

Perhaps, but w/o CJ we would have never made it there.

Agreed. Anyway, the end result was nothing from CJs career, hopefully he'll find better team success with the Lions ...

Techgator- Ryan was pure money tonight. He is certainly the best QB in the ACC. Average?? No way!

Interesting. Ryan will magically become something more than an average QB exactly 2 1/2 months from now, but until then he's merely average.
