that Iowa may be left out of the BCS. For those of you who can look past state loyalties and look at it in terms of the love of pure college football this is WRONG!! I could see this happening to Ga. Tech.

If Wasington St. wins Saturday then the Orange Bowl will choose between Iowa and ND. USC with 2 losses is gauranteed a BCS spot because it is in the top 4. ND is #10.

Iowa beat Penn St. easily even though Penn St. had a late comeback. And AT Michigan (100K +) beat them by 30+. Ohio St. won by less than 5 over Michigan at their place.

Iowa's only loss was to its in state rival early in the season.

ND lost to BC and USC badly.

From a college football purist point of view this is crap.

IF...this happens then I will conceed that college football..like the olymics and NFL or NBA....
SOLD OUT!!!!!!

Forget about half time shows and college sportsmanship and being a Techie for life meaning anything in real life. You will just have to face the Iowa players and tell them its a sham as they go to play in the Capital One Bowl against Florida.
College football just became as dirty a place as a cheap Casino... another place to make a buck.

The BCS is a bunch of crap.
We need a 16 team playoff.
It would be the most exciting series of sports events in history.....therefore it will probably never happen.

If ND gets picked over more deserving teams, Coach Willingham should look up at the statue and say "What would Jesus do?". If he did that, he would politely request that the more deserving team should go and ND will stay home and count their money.

Yeah, right.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">I agree 100%. A 16 team playoff or even a 12 would include enough of the teams that are having good/great seasons that noone would give any credence to the team ranked #13 or #17 to care if they got left out. After conference champs get an automatic placement or seeding into a playoff bracket, you could use the BCS or a better method to determine the remaining teams. The absolute silliness of it all is that the Div. I-AA, II, III, etc. all use a playoff, why can't Div. I?

I've always been in favor of preserving the traditional bowl scenario but that's become such a joke where anybody and everybody gets to go to a bowl game it's become moot. Bring on the D1 playoffs and return post-season play to it's traditionally competitive focus!
