I saw Chuck Norris fetch Matt Ryan his water bottle.

I just got back into Savannah from the game. Ouch. When Matt Ryan came to the bench, he told Chuck to get him his water bottle, and Chuck did no questions asked.

Seriously though. My comments:
1.) After the first 95 yard TD drive by BC for their first score, Matt Ryan came to the bench, and you could see this guy was totally in control. I saw him talking with his wideout and they were smiling, and I swear I saw him say "This is going to be easy". Matt Ryan is the best QB to play in BDS since David Greene with UGA. That guy is going to be very good on Sundays and does deserved to be mentioned amongst the best QB's in the nation.

2.) Advice for Pat Clark. You CANNOT play the cornerback position out of fear of getting burned. I'm sure Pat is a nice young man, but he does not have the speed, the quickness, or the ability to read a QB that it takes to play Cornerback. On 5 occassions last night, I knew once the ball was hiked they were going to throw it to Clark's WR just because of the cushion he was leaving the guy. It was quite obvious that whoever Clark was covering had the option based on Clark's coverage to run the hitch route, or the hitch and go depending how close Clark was playing. Once the WR would curl, Clark would be out of position 10 yards because he was scared of getting burned.

3.) Our secondary is awful. Lewis is a bright spot, outside of him, the rest of them are very questionable.

4.) Football is a psychological game and I hate to say this but when BC took the ball on their first possession all the way down the field and scored on us, I told my friend that this was going to get ugly. In my opinion, they won the game right there, and left us completely baffled. Gailey's teams have never stepped up to adversity in a game where they fought back from something like that.

5.) I think a lot of guys on our team just think they just have to show up and run through their routes, reads, etc. and we will win. That is what I call false confidence. It doesn't work that way.

6.) Taylor Bennett is a good QB, but he is not on a level where he can win you games from the QB position. And lets face it that is pretty important. His quote after the game was interesting: "They are a good team, and we will be seeing them again down in Jacksonville.". Son, I like you, I really do. But shut the f**k up with that nonsense. See note #5. If you're going to talk like that you better be able to prove it and you haven't done that and you have a lot of work to do to get there. I don't doubt that you can, but this game felt a lot like a team who counted their chickens before they hatched.

7.) All the people on the Hive who constantly talked up our offensive line like that are a very strong unit, shut the f**k up finally. Our OLine proved once again that faced with a challenge they get their asses kicked. We have a better than average OLine but they were the weakest link of the entire offense last night. All 5 of them. And that's with TWO of BC's starting DLine OUT for the game.

8.) See note #7, but it really chaps my ass that I am secure in feeling and confident in saying that Chan Gailey does not start the best players. He favors experience over talent, and that is not good personnel management. I won't address the defense, but against a big BC Dline known to stuff the run, I would think Dunman playing Center and Lonowski at Left Guard is our best chance of running the ball.

9.) Welcome to the highest level of college football John Bond. You certainly impressed me coming out throwing the ball and running a no huddle. It worked. So why the hell did you move away from it with this gimicky crap the rest of the first half? In the 2nd quarter when Dwyer took the ball on a 2nd and 10 reverse and fumbled, you basically sent a message to the entire crowd, that you have no answer as to how to attack BC's defense. We desperately needed a first down, and we were in such a bad rut that you ran a reverse to the short side of the field against an aggressive D? You have yet to impress me. Please allow me to show you the UGA and Wake games last year under Coach (SIC) Nix.

10.) BC was a better football team, and totally focused. You could see it in their players attitudes on the bench. It was like they were there on business.

11.) Worst officiated game I have ever seen. Those referees all need to be fired. However, they did not change the outcome of the game. There were two phatom pass interference calls, and 3 more very questionable ones. They also didn't call 4 holding penalties in the first half, but finally started catching BC's holds int he second. The far side line judge had money on the game. Anytime he had the ability to spot the football, he favored BC and it was obvious to the 30 people sitting around me.

12.) Tenuta needs to learn how to adjust better during the game when his schemes don't seem to work. This has been a consistent problem in the past when his defense was being exposed.

13.) Matt Ryan not only pees standing up, but I saw Chuck Norris run over and flush the toilet for him out of respect.

Overall I'm disappointed a little, but not more than I thought. Sometimes you get beaten by a better team. That's football. BC was a DAMN GOOD team. They are a legit top 10 team. They handed it to us, NCST, and Wake. They were the better team.

My disappointment lies in this: We have consistently allowed ourselves to believe we are better than we are. It seems to be the mentality of our football team. Once again, my expectations were raised, only to be doused again. Ahh well, I'm all too used to it. All of our players need to read the art of war. And if you think you can just walk in week in and week out and magically appear in Jacksonville, you are mistaken. Which is why Taylor needs to grow the hell up and get a little dose of reality. If you want to make it to Jax, you have no room to screw up from here on out.

One more thing, why against a passing team we had Oliver and robertson at Ends, with Walker and Richards in the middle is confusing to say the least. Michael Johnson was owning their Left tackle all game, and yet, we kept lining up to start a series without MJ in the game. Stupid stupid stupid.

Amen, Michael Johnson was dominating their tackle all night! He was very fired up and you could seem him trying to jack up the other players after they held him (and finally called it).

To me the turning point in the game was when BC had it third and long on the five and our d lineman was badly held and it wasn't called.

Which players do you see reading their headlines and going through the motions? Which ones are laying down on game day? Which ones believe they're better than they think they are?

The only people talking and acting like that are on talk radio and intraweb message boards.

Those guys busted their asses last night. They knew what was on the line. The coaches did a lousy job of preparing them and gameplanning from what I can tell, but I saw no big heads and quitting.

And Jeebus Cripes, that was NOT a blowout. The game was in doubt until late in the fourth quarter. The plays were not made. Those are the two best teams in the league. They had a veteran quarterback and we didn't.

I did not say and I didn't even imply that our players quit. I think our players get in the game and they are all looking at the other guy on the field to make the play. We don't have guys who step up and take control like BIG TIME teams do. We just talk a lot about it. Choice is the ONLY guy on the team who is a beast, and he was obviously frustrated. I saw a QB who instead of throwing downfield to try and make a play was throwing to the flats on 3rd and long hoping not to screw up. When you are down two TD's it doesn't work doing that.
I don't see quitters, I see guys who think they'll win if Tater hands it to Choice because that is what they expect. It takes 11 guys all on the same page and all focused on the common goal. That is what I saw from BC.

I am speaking of the offense above. The defense has three leaders and one of them is only on the field 50% of the time, which is ridiculous.

I knew it was over when they scored on a 95 yard drive on their first possession. I knew it would become a shootout at that point and we didn't have the firepower to fight back.

9) I'm not a big fan of the shenanigan offense either. When you have a senior offensive line, you shouldn't need to lateral and WR pass. Although, the direct snap is growing on me.

I hope Bond is working on two things in practice. First, he needs coach TB to be more aggressive. When you are down by 3 TD's, you shouldn't check down to your RB for a 0 yard pass on 3rd and 8. Go up the field. Second, coach the RB's to cut back when the opposing defense is over playing the run. The whole first half BC's entire defense was following our offensive line. If TC had taken a step, then cut back there was yardage to be had.

11) With the exception of spotting the ball, the refs were calling a pretty even game. Unfortunately, they were letting a lot of holding go on pass protection and they were calling pass interference unbelievably tight. That favored BC's game, not ours. But it was pretty evenly called.

I have posted my thoughts over on Buzzoff, no need to rehash them here. I saw this coming a long time ago. I was not surprised by what happened.

But I'm glad that you, and others, are experiencing what I call a gap: A gap between expectation and result. Because it is only through gaps that enough emotional momentum can be generated to do what needs to be done.

If everyone expected us to be average, to be a perennial 5-loss team, no better, then utter beatdowns like this from time to time would be acceptable. Not enjoyable, but acceptable. There would be no gap. There would be no outrage. There would be no momentum for change.

Our team's problems are not insurmountable. There is nothing here that cannot be overcome with a good solid coaching change at the head coaching level.

My hope is that this event provides at least some momentum toward achieving the goal of replacing our head coach with someone who knows what they are doing.

Bunger, do you ever stop to take pause just for a brief moment maybe about how big an idiot you have become?

Just curious. It seems like every year you get a little dumber.

I guess I should have just expected our OLine and DLine to not be dominated. I mean if you expect something, you always get it.

I don't see too many (if any) teams on our schedule dominating on both lines the way BC did - sometimes the other guy deserves the credit. No amount of coaching will make a difference when the other team is controlling both lines of scrimmage.

I PREDICT THAT WE WILL LOSE ANOTHER GAME UNDER CHAN GAILEY, THEREFORE WE MUST FIRE HIM AND HIRE SOMEONE ELSE WHO NEVER LOSES. COACHES WHO NEVER LOSE ARE LINED UP OUTSIDE DAN RADIKOVICH'S DOOR, WHY HASN'T HE HIRED ONE OF THEM YET? CLEARLY IT'S BECAUSE THE FANS AREN'T EMOTIONALLY INVESTED ENOUGH IN THE GAME.

It may not have been a blowout at 7-0 in the first quarter, but it sure seemed like one to me when it became 21-0 inthe 3rd quarter.

Will you still want Gailey at tech if he loses to UGA for the 6th straight time?

Look, I like the guy on a personal level, but I like beating UGA more.

It didn't seem like a blowout 21-7 in the 4th, with the ball inside BC's 10. But then the fumble got over-turned.

This was a slow methodical beatdown, the kind you see in the NFL I might add. I think both the coaches and players are going to learn from this game.

Time to break the curse in Who-ville.

Yep, nothing like a game that has absolutely NO IMPACT on our trip to the ACCCG to become #1 on our priority list.

There are bigger fish to fry at times, my friend.

And having to rebuild a team from it's foundation while still winning more games than it lost.

If it's his fault? Nope.

And for the record, I have no problem listing beating UGA as a #1 priority, and no problem admitting we haven't gotten it done. Losing last year was a miracle, losing the previous two was 50/50 vs a more talented team. But none of those facts has anything to do with Bunger Henry being an a-hole, which is my primary motivation for posting in this thread.

It is this mentality that has completely plagued some of our fan base and even it seems to plague the players and the coaching staff. Its like a disease, and you have contracted it. Worst yet, is you are trying to spread it.

UGA is important. You cannot be successful at the National Level if you cannot beat your in-state rival. What you said has become the #1 used reason to explain the last 6 years of losing to UGA. You never heard this when we were winning, and you never heard it in the 80's and 90's when we were mostly losing to UGA.

What I find humorous, is that you and many others are trying to explain away the importance of one of the more historical rivalries with complete and total nonsense just so you can be rationalize to yourself losing to UGA in the future.

Completely pathetic and unacceptable attitude for being a fan of Georgia Tech.
