There is such excitement around this program like I've rarely seen before - why, it's comparable to post '90, pre-season of '99, pre-UGa 2006...
Of course, we were sorely disappointed after those years' excitement and hype.
I wanna see this offense score 40 with 400 yards against any opponent we may face in the upcoming chicken bowl. I wanna see continued improvement beginning with the first game next year. I wanna see the trap games won, I wanna see national ranking rise over the season, instead of dropping out after an unexpected defeat. I want empirical, undeniable proof.
I'm not pessimistic. I truely believe Paul will win championships, ACC, if not MNC. But OTOH, I've been a loyal Georgia Tech fanatic for more than 40 years now and I've had my heart broken more times than I can count, and dang it, I wanna see it! And I think I will, but there's all them old internal scars that just won't let me get too excited. Yet.
That said, one of the ways the excitement can certainly be derailed would be for PJ to leave GT for another job. I'm confident he won't unless he gets to feeling he will not be able to win a National Championship here. With the way the team has taken to his instruction, with the success he's had in recruiting so far, with a great AD behind him, I'm sure he's feeling a NC is not far down the road. And I'm with him on that.
But I still wanna see.
