I think the problems on offense have partially created this mess

The D always comes out fired up and playing well

They they have to take the field over and over and over and over - many times after 3-outs..

I believe after a while, the defense a) runs out of gas and b) realizing that its unlikely the offense can score, they just have no steam left, mentally and physically - then c) the opponents offense starts to steamroll...Now we've seen this 2-3 times....

Then the offense continues to lose morale - because now the D isn't stopping the other team, then we become a "catch-up" team, having to pass, which is not our strong area....Then it appears (whether true or not) that the whole team is tanking...

I believe it all starts with the inability of the offense.

Bilbo is SO SO SO much (obviously) our best QB....

Its beyond amazing that he isn't playing - I would guarentee Fridge would be starting Bilbo - most teams rarely get a QB with his abilities....

I say partially only because I believe there are other problems as well.......morale, enthusiasm, conditioning, lack of preparation, etc etc etc

When asked about DeBo, Chan always goes back to his feeling that DeBo is "not consistent." What the helle does he think AJ is? (Hint: AJ is NOT consistent, unless one means consistently unable to sustain drives and score).

I thouht AJ looked BETTER at Maryland, but still...

Did you see the up-tick of the team after DeBo went in?

i agree with all you guys.

the quarterback coach is not doing his job at all. why is it that bilbo knows only 20% of the offense. even if he does, the 20% that he does know seems to work!!!!

why can't BOB swallow his pride and cut down his offense playbook to 20% and work with the working 20% of the playbook that bilbo knows and build on that???

because BOB is trying to audition for his next job. he's the weakest link.

but damn, in the end the BUCK stops at the head coach's doorstep. WAKE UP CHAN!!!!

Sort of agree, but I still don't see any evidence that the defense is either unmotivated or out of shape. I would argue that they are simply undersized and just can't stand up to the constant pounding from bigger stronger teams. As a matter of fact, one of the papers up here talked about the formula for beating Tech, just pound on the defense until it breaks.

If you look at our team our biggest LB is Smith at 230#. Marylands smallest was 229#. They also had a 300# NT. EVERY ONE OF THEIR O-LINEMEN was 300#. Quickness and speed can keep you in the game for a while, but we aren't that much quicker or faster than the teams we play and their size and strength is wearing us down.

I think that's why Chan and BOB keep sticking with AJ. Not that he's been that much more consistent but they are hoping for long, time consuming drives to keep the defense off the field. DeBo seems to produce either a quick score or a 3 and out. Personally I would rather see him get his shot but I can understand what the coaches are thinking.
