Hiring a coach that's won championships in D-1AA and made Navy competitive garnered some positive press.

Having success early on the road, even in the loss at VT, and exceeding the very low expectations set by a horrible spring scrimmage got us a few regional accolades.

Having a true freshman step in an lead the team to victory in two games was an appealing story.

We started to get some national attention when we shellacked the windbags.

We definately got big time ink by beating the mongrels in their house.

Having a coach who's offense is not only unusual, but apparently unstopable has heightened the media attention we're receiving.

The offense is simply fun to watch - having great athletes that can break a looong run from a 'mundane' 6 yard gainer makes for exciting football. Even more so once the passing game comes on line.

Watching the O fool the D time after time is highly entertaining even to nonbiased observers. Although this happens in every game, it's just more obvious when the offense pulls a fast one in the TO.

Doing so with a group who can legitmately be called student-athletes is an appealing story to the media.

If we beat the Tiggers, and especially if we score a lot, regardless of the point difference, the glare of media attention preseason next year will be blinding.

I think you're exactly right, Lee. I would add that I think PJ's personality will add to it even more. Like Bobby Bowden, Lou Holtz, and a handful of others who the media dotes on. His quips and quotes will be thrown around on the air and in the papers.

I'm thinking this is going to be good for us. Media exposure = higher rankings, TV advantages (say it's a toss up as to whether we play 3:30 or night. Media darlings get the night.) And exposure for recruiting, of course.
