The name Cunningham sure brings back memories. Brent Cunningham played halfback at Tech during the Carson coaching years.
He started his career off with a bang, and Bobby Dodd stated, "he may be the best running back to ever play for Tech". Then Carson continued to run Brent on every down, the opposition stacked the line against hime, and he becane innefective as a marked man.
When I saw Burns play under the last coaching regime, it reminded me of Carson and Cunningham. We could sit in the stands, and every fan around us would call the next play. It was very frustrating. Yes, Carson began to get his share of the boos during that period and for that very reason.
It was even highlighted in the papers about the lackluster play calling by the coaches. By the way, Cunningham knew the fans were not booing him, because he would always get cheers and standing ovations when he entered, left the game, or stepped on the field.
