Now that we have lost to the 4th place team in the mighty WAC in the annual Idaho Truck Stop Bowl (Rowdy's is a truck stop), I would love for Paul Johnsons speach to the team to be something like this:
"Men, its a new day at Ga. Tech, no longer is playing in a truck stop bowl in late December in Idaho acceptable. With the talent in this room, I expect better, and you should demand more of yourselves. Can any of you honestly say, you progressed and got better as the season went along? (maybe Morgan Burnett) Can any of you say you gave 100%, 100% of the time? Men, there are three things I am changing TODAY! First, we are bringing in a staff and players that expect nothing but the best of themselves. Wanting to win is not enought, Duke wants to win everygame but they didn't. Hawaii has won every game because they execute and play as a team. Second, we are getting ride of those people that do not demand the best of themselves. Both in the classroom and on the football field. Third, we are going to create a atmosphere where those that want to excell can do so.
Men, I believe in you and in time you will come to trust me. We are going to sweat, bleed, and cry together. We are going to demand the best of ourselves! When you see someone not giving 100%, it is your job and all of the coaches to ride that person, to Demand they step or or get out of the way.
Men, I am going to push you farther and harder than you ever imagined possible. The price of victory requires nothing less!!!!! Trying hard, and is not enough, we will demand perfection. I am very excited and you should be too, its a new Day at Tech!
