Rick Pitino, yes. Why not? I'm serious. We can pay him $1 and he can rebuild his image. Hell, he can pay us.

To clarify..... I don't think GT can afford to go the unproven mid-major "hot" up and comer, or even some guy that has had success, but seems to be in a bit of a lull. Even guys on the upswing after a couple of difficult years would be ideal. The thought of another stint involving on the job training/retraining isn't very appealing IMO. If and when the time comes to do it, then let's make a splash and go all in. An example would be someone in the mold of Prohm at Iowa State. He has proven himself at Murray State and he seems to be proving himself at Iowa State. If he maintains his level of success after years 4-5, then I'd be all in regarding a guy that has followed that kind of progression in his career, versus a guy that has only proven himself at a 'lower' level of play. This may be entirely unrealistic in practice, but it's my perfect scenario.

Also, just won an SEC Tournament at Auburn which is about the same as Vandy winning the SEC in football.

Georgia State back in the Tourney again. Best basketball program in the state and it's not close

Well if the NCAA BB tourney expanded to 320 teams, CJP would have us in 9 of 11 years.

Our last 2 hires were on decline and on the verge of being fired, before we snatched them and gave them new life.

I mean I would be all over this. He's gotten nothing but results so far. And like him or hate him, he's a genuine dude.

But realistically, would this mean we couldn't play any Kenny Anderson clips on the Jimbo Tron? Not sure if it's worth it.

I was at that game. As much as we fans loved it, Mackey felt bad about it; "Bobby is a friend of mine".

Pitino - perfect. We can be the bad boys of college basketball. We are well on our way. Get uniforms modeled after Oakland Raider uniforms and their accompanying fans with monster outfits with studs protruding. Team meetings, media announcements and other activities would be done out of the Cheetah lounge to promote the image.

I read where there are now only FOUR P5 teams that haven't been to NCAAs in last 9? yrs. WE are in THERE. Anything is an a probable improvement.

Kinda makes me a little sick thinking of hiring Bobby Hurley as GT basketball coach.

Why would he leave Arizona St. for GT? I like Nate Oats from Buffalo.

I'll take it. Anything is better than what we're doing now.
