If Hawaii beats Ugag do they get AP #1?

I think the AP would love to split the vote and Hawaii beats Ugag then they are undefeated after beating a top5 team.

That could be interesting and fun to watch.

All I know is that I would have a new favorite team. Lets go Rainbow Warriors... God I can't believe I just typed that.

What do you mean by 'if' ? More like, when!

Btw, I don't think it matters, with 12-0 they are deemed worse than OSU and LSU. With LSU/OSU winning against AP 1st/2nd and Hawaii winning against AP 4th, nothing should change, unless Hawaii just thrashes UGA, oh man, that would be a sight.

Eh, I hope not. There's probably no 2 quarterbacks in college football that I dislike more than Matt Stafford and Colt Brennan.

Wrong. Try again.

Nope, I'm right. And I really don't like Stafford.

This (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colt_Brennan#University_of_Colorado) doesn't make me like him anymore than that hair does, either.

I doubt it. Hawaii is currently ranked 10th in the AP poll --I cannot see them leap-frogging nine teams after the bowl games are played out. If they were currently say fifth or sixth --then I'd say they had a shot at #1 after they defeat UGA.

If LSU defeats OSU and VT defeats KU, then Hawaii will not only be the only undefeated team left, there will be no one-loss teams left either. You could make a case for Hawaii moving up to the top slot --particularly if, along with OSU and KU losing, WVA beats OU.

"They" can justify anything they want. LSU jumped from #7 to 2 to get into the BCS game. Don't bet the farm it can't happen.

Yeah, I actually changed my post from "there is no way" to "I cannot see them" leap-frogging nine teams. The more I look at it --if LSU wins and Hawaii wins, then Hawaii may have a slight shot at #1 (in the AP), and you would think no worse than #3.

If Hawaii wins a close one, they might go to 6th or 7th, if they blow UGA out they might climb as high as 4th.

To help out Coach June Jones and his team, I suggest that all GT Alumni watch the Sugar Bowl in a Hawaiian shirt. If you are at home or in a Sports Bar or at the in-laws; break out the shirt and lets cheer for the Good Guys. Who cares if you are watching the game and there is snow on the ground and the fire place is roaring high and hot.

It is for sure none of us would wear red that day or any other day.

It's the Rainbow Warriors, shouldn't we go watch the game at the Heretic or Swingin' Richards?

Didn't realize that Colt Brennan was a POS like that though. Not that I ever want the Dawgs to win, but if they do, I can at least take some solace if a few line backers plow that scum bag. Best case scenario: Brennan steps in front of the UGA bus while it's going to the game, and the bus careens of a bridge. Everybody wins and the universe is a better place.

I hope so. If they win convincingly then they will have addressed the objection of strength of opposition that kept them as low as they are.

UGA itself had a case to be in the MNC game. So if an undefeated team stays undefeated and beats a MNC contender, then who is to say whether they couldn't beat OSU and LSU as well?

Mainly, I want any result that brings us one inch closer to a playoff. A split title with an undefeated non-BCS team should help a bit.

P.S.
The ESPN discussion of a +1 format for BCS has treated it like a four team playoff (great if it happens.) But couldn't a +1 format exist without actually playing the top four teams together?

Some combination of the top 6-8 teams could play in the bowls and as long as #1 did not play #2 in the bowls it would be somewhat better than we have today.
