Says Jamey Johnson, Paul Johnson's younger bro. according to an Ajc article tonight.

I love it. GREAT article. Sounds like we might have our Spurrier!!! :fingersx:

Yeah, Knobler did MUCH better on this one. I hope the web version is a snipet of the paper version. Expecially since he interviewed 15 people for it...

Awesome article, can't wait to see PJ coaching next season.

I think PJ is going to be great for offense, Im really watching out for who he picks for DC. This will tell us (IMHO) IF he is committed to Defense. I'm hoping he is, and realizes that we will not consistently compete for championships unless, he is also committed to defense!

What do you mean committed to defense? Do you mean recruiting for defense positions with the same fever as offense positions? Other than that, what else can he do for defense?

The 1st thing and top priority IMHO
IS, hiring an established proven DC and leave him alone as Gailey did with Tenuta. Van Gorder would be a homerun!

THEN, be committed to recruiting players to defense (Gailey made the statement, we would and should always recruit MINIMUM 11 players on defense every year. One for every position, couple of years, we came short of 11 because of limeted schollys, we do not have that Scolly problem now, starting this year)
Oleary did not make these committments to Defense and thus we never got to that next level in our program. You win championships with rock solid defense, has and always will be the formula in football to winning championships.

With PJ we know what we will get, a good offense, the KEY for us being championship calibre will always be defense IMHO under him.
I just hope he is committed to defense and will be watching closely over these hires he makes and recruiting the next 2 or 3 years.
PJ is a competitor and I think he understands this, and hopefully his horrible defenses at Navy were due to a lack of athletes available.
