If, If, If, If... we win the next 2 games...

Homecoming has nothing to do with the time of our game. Neither does the FSU game, as the time will have been decided by then.

My guess is it will be a 3:30 game, but I wouldn't be at all surprised to see us get screwed with another noon start.

Noon starts don't screw us. PJ prefers them. Our only loss this year so far has been at night.

Im fine with playing as early as possible if thats what coach prefers, but theres a lot of crap going on on Homecoming that makes 3:30 or so a hell of a lot better for the fans.

Haven't we done a homecoming game at night? I'm pretty sure we did recently.

Negatory.

'08 UVA: 3:30
'07 Army: Noon
'06 Miami: 3:30
'05 Clemson: 3:30
'04 Dook: Noon
'03 NC State: Noon
'02 Wake: 3:30
'01 NC State: 3:30
'00 Wake: Noon
'99 UNC: 3:30
'98 UVA: 3:30
'97 NC State: 3:30
'96 UVA: 3:30
'95 Clemson: Noon
'94 Wake: 1:00?

That's as far back as I can remember.

Take one for the team pal.:laugher:

Yes, but look at those opponents. Are any of those matchups really that intriguing for TV purposes? This year's game against VPI could very well determine who wins the coastal, especially if "da U" lays an egg against one of their less-formidable opponents.

I wouldn't be surprised to see an 8 pm game this year.

ABC/ESPN basically decide the gametimes. Raycom (or whatever its called now) has 3rd choice. Every other ACC game is either on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, or ESPN360. Our homecoming games are not at night because we normally try not to schedule powerhouses for homecoming. However, VT is our only October home game and since we do homecoming in October there ya go.

FYI for the skeptics, we are not the ESPN/ABC family or Raycom this week because the home team is not in the ACC. The home team determines the TV affiliate. Thats why we are always on CBS when we play in Athens.

we had a 12-year homecoming win streak until UVA last year (embarrassing)

but like you said, we never played any "good" teams for homecoming. GT/VT, assuming we both don't lose any more games and maybe if Miami does, then we may even get Gameday...

We'll know Monday the start time for VT, unless the networks exercise the 6 day option (IIRC, they are allowed to do this twice a year).

If both teams win this weekend, I think a nighttime kickoff has a high probability of happening.

I would love for Gameday to come to Tech for the GT/VT game. The only competition that week is from the Red River Rivalry @12pm. Only problem is where they would set up. My first choice would be the lawn in front of Tech tower. Not the size of YJP, but beautiful.

If Texas/Oklahoma is that week then we are not going to be the pick. IMHO.
Although they haven't went to this game much have they?

I have been thinking about this a bit and I think it would end up being held IN BDS, with the students in the stands in the background.
