If I'm the new AD, I think I'd be out looking for as many field tarps as it took to cover Grant Field right now. We clearly looked awful in a slow wet field, meanwhile ND purposely slowed the field down against USC. All of this suggests to me that we'd be a whole lot more competitive with a tightly mown fast field.

So if I was guaranteeing success, I'd have that field covered if need be by the end of this week.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

Speculative in nature, however, with the potential of the hurricane providing rain in our area Saturday, I would attempt to keep the field covered pre-game.

based on how we looked against Utah...I would put a tarp over the entire freakin' stadium!!!!

Sounds like a good idea. We should not let ND have any advantages. Please let us forget that day at the fudgepacker bowl and not let our field get wet.

I think that we are going to be fine. Though my co-workers with beach houses in SC & NC are beginning to sweat a bit.

Unlike the nut bowl, Grant Field has the same system as Augusta National. They can suck a lot of water out of the ground and pump it out. We just need to make sure the grass is short.

Maybe we can borrow ANGC's Greenskeeper and staff for the next 4 days to get Grant Field rolling to a 13.
Some azaelas would look nice too!
