If PJ wins 8 or 9 games in his first season

Well, if you take out the second 1-AA game which Gailey didn't have the luxury of having, then it would be seven or eight wins, which is exactly what Gailey had. So hopefully you are not trying to say PJ is going to turn out like Gailey.

No, what I am saying is: if CPJ can win 8 or 9 games in his first season installing a drastically different system with a bunch of freshman/sophomores, what does that say about Gailey?

What does this say about Gailey?

Says Gailey could've used a QB that plays with as much composure as Nesbitt did yesterday with the game on the line.

I could come up with more.

why don't you tell us your opinion on what CPJ getting 8 or 9 wins would say about gailey?

could you tell us exactly how it relates as well. different years, different players, different coaches, different opponents. doesn't say sht!.

revisionist topics...woo hoo!!! nother great post kyle.

it will be in PJ's 5th year we will be able to evaluate and draw conclusions

I remember when Fridge was reshaping the ACC with his offense at MD and now he appears to be on his way out in MD.

News Flash!!!

Chan Gailey is no longer our coach. Can we move on now? Or do we have to bring Chan up again every time GT does something?

What will it say about Chan Gailey if (God forbid) GT only wins 2 or 3 games this year? Nothing. Just like it says nothing about Chan if they win 8 or 9. This season has nothing to do with him. It's Paul Johnson's team now.

Long live Paul Johnson.

There were still years that Gailey had 12 regular season games, though, so let's say we replace the second I-AA opponent with a team like Troy(which would still be a likely W) and it's very comparable. Granted, this year's ACC may be worse than it was any year Gailey was around...

Gailey's coaching speaks for itself. I sure hope those Chiefs fans enjoyed that offensive exhibition ole Chan turned in today against the Pats cause they'll be seeing a lot of that.

Don't count your chickens before they hatch. This is still the first season under CPJ and while I expect probably too much out of him in the next five seasons, even in his first season at GSU he still did not win it all. Although the second season he went to the champ game and was 14-0 going into the game!

Gailey was fired because he wasn't a good college football coach. Johnson was hired because he's always in the running for the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Award. Seems pretty simple how the abilities of each are perceived.

ok, now lets take away 10 players and see what happens?

all these supposed "comparisons" are total BS and i wish that people could move on and look ahead instead of trying to prove some point

stupid topic, move on!

i agree move on. what this topic should have said was..."If PJ wins 8 or 9 games in his first season, think of what that will do for recruiting for next season!"

I personally think that each win helps him out big time. he is coming into a team that does not have his type of players and still winning. that just shows that he is a great coach and should be able to help him get even more talented players. i cant wait to see Tech up in the top recuiting classes for football.

I'd say that it means the ACC is really junk this year. Unless he beats the Great Satan, in which case I will write odes to the greatness of Paul Johnson.
