If we go to the Big Ten do we stick with Collins?

I think even if we went to the moon, Collins needs to go. He has this year to turn it around but I personally have no confidence in him. If we were to join the B1G the process will take two to three years probably. Collins won't last that long.

I don't think it would change the decision-making process at all. Still gotta win this year. I am refusing to get my hopes up on this Big 10 thing, though

Conference stuff probably won't effect the decision on Collins. We're playing in the ACC in 2022 and that's when Collins needs to win to stay. Any conference changes would take at least a couple years to have a monetary effect, maybe longer depend on how the grant of rights thing shakes out, so we aren't going to hang on to him through a losing season banking on some future money changing things around.

Why the hell would conference affiliation have any bearing on whether we keep a bad coach? This is a dumb question that makes no sense. He's lost the fans, the only thing that will save him are results in 2022.

OP obviously trolling.

We aren't going to the Big 10 best we can hope for is the ACC wakes up and finds some teams to bring in but I think they will wait till it's too late.
And who is this Collins you speak of ?

1. Sadly Georgia Tech missed it’s opportunity to go to the Big Ten. We had an opportunity when Johnson had us playing good football. But they won’t have us now. Don’t blame them.

2. If Collins had not already made millions of dollars, I would actually feel sorry for him. But he does not need to be a coach ANYWHERE —- not even an assistant coach in Div 2.

Hell no, we shouldn't keep him. Even if we were forced to move down to div 2, he should go, and the sooner the better.
C'mon now. He'd probably be an above average D2 football coach. Just because he's way over his head in D1 doesn't mean he can't coach at a high school and do well.

What I think is most interested is somebody is going to pick him up as a coordinator next year. I think he's better positioned being the HC & staying out of the coordinator business unless he's got a sizable & capabale staff surrounding him. He's likely a much better cheerleader for a program than have any business figuring out schemes to run, plays to call, etc. He's atrocious at that.

glad i put on my glasses, thought it would be a lively thread that said
"If we go to the Big Ten do we stink with Collins? "

What does our conference affiliation have to do with our head coach?

I don’t understand the question at all.

My favorite is still when he called a timeout so he could go for a TD after the crowd booed him for sending out the FG unit. Crowdsourced playcalling.

Well, at least we know where to find the circle jerk... Also helps identify the ones who won't be around when Tech goes on a winning streak to start the season.

If we go to the Big Ten do we stick it to Collins?

Resounding YES!

This predictably devolved into the CDS circlejerk it was intended to
