We have to leave the 3O behind. I am convinced our competitors hammer recruits with the fact that they are putting their career in jeopardy practicing against that O. And to beat a dead horse....if the Institute wants to compete in a P-5 conference, then make a place at GT for D-1 athletes.

Totally correct

I believe we have talent on D particularly the D Line this season. And I think all of our players are D-1. You’re an asshole.

There is truth in your statement that GT faces an uphill battle in terms of messaging on the offense for defensive recruits. But we have also had a lot of our higher rates recruits come on the defensive side of the ball and just not pan out. I don’t think Tuitt or Flowers were convinced by “health arguments.”

Any player that is not convinced by the 0 players injured in a decade while practicing against the option is not a smart person and was just looking for an excuse to cross us off his own list.

Interesting that GT was #46 in total defense this year. Guess who was #4?

App. State. Guess it wasn't all Coach Woody after all...

The only way to upgrade our talent on D is to offer a major that doesn’t require calculus.

No, it was having a system in place for more than a year. Woody’s D didn’t start clicking at App until year 2. And they didn’t face offenses like Clemson and UGa more that once every other year.

No, we had talent on D under Tenura. The key is having an exciting D to play in. With cpj, the D was next to invisible. It is hard to get kids excited about that when all of the spotlight is on the o.

Nate Woody might not be the best DC.

If he was really good, don’t you think we wouldn’t be dead last in the country on 3rd down conversions? Dead Last. Out of every team in college football.

His side of the ball’s performance last weekend was the worst I’ve ever seen against Georgia. Say what you will about Roof (he has major
flaws) but his defenses played pretty darn good against Georgia.

If CNW hits the road it would not bother me one iota.

Yep, Roof's D usually played pretty big against UGA. Heck, I believe he held them to 13 in 2015. The D had some pretty good games last year. What killed us was those half ending and game ending drives, and for some reason the dam broke against Duke.
