The kid has had some of his best throws called back because of penalties. Between the penalties and dropped passes, he lost 100 passing yards. Considering we had NO running game, he did a good job.

So you douchebags that are whining about TB need to point your doody stained fingers somewhere else. He did his job. The defense didnt mount a consistent rush and seemed unable to cover lumbering tight ends.. The line was unable to open anything resembling a crack, much less a hole..

Thanks to TB, we didnt post a goose egg.

i agree...i just got back from the game and I am shocked to see all the TB bashing. He must of looked a lot worse on TV than he did in person because I would put his performance way down on the list of reason we lost the game. I actually thought his performance was one of the bright spots.

It's still early in the season, and I believe we played our toughest opponent tonight. I hope BC goes undefeated at this point.

I think the coaches have plenty of tape to look at and can make the adjustments to have a great season. It is depressing seeing all this gloom-and-doom.

GO JACKETS!

Agreed. We were having success throwing the ball. But I think the coaching was stubborn in constantly returning to the run game when there was nothing there. TB was looking at 2nd and 8, 3rd and 7 all game. The middle of the field was wide open.

After that great catch by BayBay in the 4th Q we turned around to run the ball up the middle for a loss of 2 yards, the play after that the O-Line didn't do their job to keep BC off of him and he had to throw it away. The last play JJ broke late on the throw. Result, settle for 3 when you really needed 7

TB does still need playing experience, he does sometimes under throw the ball, sometimes he over throws, sometimes he doesn't read through his progressions, and he almost always throws the ball short when throwing on the run.....but all this comes with experience. Everyone was so quick to put Taylor up as the Offensive Savior after living with a bi-polar Reggie for 4 years. This was only his 5 start. 3 of those starts were against a bad Samford, average UConn and what is appearing to be a bad Notre Dame team.

The entire team and the coaching staff were just beat tonight, we were outplayed and out coached.

This loss is not Bennett's fault.

I'm a Tator fan but when you have 3rd and 8 and throw a 2 yard pass to the TE, I do have a problem with that.

By the way nice name calling, lots of class there!

It seems to me that TB is still holding back a little bit.

I'm not being critical but I do notice that there's something missing from a lot of his throws - its hard to put my finger on it. The announcers said that he is holding onto the ball too long and that's part of it.

A good # of the 'zip' passes - the ones that aren't supposed to arc, he's not releasing the ball soon enough. On the arcing passes, he is waiting too long to make the throw. If I had to make a guess, I'd wonder if he isn't too concerned about making a mistake or throwing to the wrong guy. Or both.

These are very fixable mistakes in either event and I'm sure he and CJB will be spending some quality time together this week.

UVa's secondary better have their track shoes on next Saturday.

TB, either has no confdence in himself, his receivers, or both. The double and triple clutching are a clear sign. Perhaps he doesn't trust his arm or he is afraid of throwing a pick. Let's face facts, the kid wasnlt recruited by anyone other than GT and Boise (according to the announcers) and if that is true then it is a clear indication. If we have another game and a loss at UVA, i say put in Nesbitt and take our lumps. It is clear that he is the future.

I think we saw last night the best team that we'll play all year. Unfortunately we'll be seeing teams almost as good and if we can't cover any better and if our O line can't bloody someone's nose, it'll be another Chan Bowl after 7-5 or 8-4.

The fact is Taylor did not play particularly well. He didn't cost us the game and he didn't suck, but he has to play better than he did last night. He's hesistating too much before making his throws and he isn't taking advantage of what's open. But it's only his 5th start so to expect All ACC caliber performances isn't realistic either. But to say he did his job, is overstating it. He did some good things and some bad...like pretty much the whole team.

I hope BC goes undefeated at this point.

Are you sure?

If you think the officiating was questionable last night, just wait until we play them again in the ACCCG, when they are still undefeated under your scenario, and the entire ACC needs them to win to make the BCSCG.

I will take a 2 yard completion over last years options, a sack or an interception. Give the kid a chance to get comfortable. Since we wasted a game on a I-AA patsy, this is only his 4th game.

your agenda is abundantly clear.. any reason you would give RB or Nesbitt a 4 year chance and not give TB at least until mid-season to get comfortable? Nesbitt didnt show me anything against Samford.

I'm not asking for his removal, we do have a good back up so let's let him rotate.

As far as a two yard pass why don't we just spike it, that way it takes out the possibility of a fumble by the db who is taking a clear shot at the TE turned to catch the ball.

There's lots of people I blame for this loss, and Taylor doesn't make my top 5.

I've said this before in defense of Chan playing Reggie. Taylor only played his senior year of high school and was only offered by Tech, Boise State, Tulsa and a couple other mid-majors. Chan took a chance on him with his good fundamentals. Considering all that and the current level of our receivers, I'd say he's done fairly well.

By the way, Tech will beat UVA. Despite the loss to BC, it's still safe to assume that we're better than Wyoming.

it is somewhat amazing that there are idiots out there who care enough about football to take the time to make posts on this site yet know less about the game than my dog.

The Defense gave up 500+ yards and the "idiots" want to find a way to critsize TB. Either they know nothing about football or their sons play in the secondary. TB would have thrown for 300+ yards if you give him the 6 dropped passes back and the foolish penalities that brought 3 more back. He hit 5 different receivers this week against a defense that had 9 interceptions coming into this game. 6 different receivers in 2 quarters of play last week ) and 6 at ND. When you get that many O-players involved..your doing your job.

.....And Macdaddy2 you are the biggest macidiot of them all.

3. QB, if our back up is capable he should see plenty of time against the snobbers.

Guess this makes the Mover an idiot ?????

Definitely been called a lot worse.

Two things about our QB situation compared to last year.

1. Common Knowledge that Tator did not practice well last year. That's why he didn't play.

2. I have spoken to enough insiders to know that our 2nd string QB has practiced well.

My point is Chan is not in a position to let our 1st string QB continue to play if certain decisions aren't corrected.

And for the poster who said if you take back the dropped balls and other excuses he would have had a great night. Well guess what " if if's and but's were candied nuts we'd all have a Merry Christmas"

How about we stop making excuses and have civilized debates instead of all the name calling crap.

Mover, no one was calling you an idiot. My point, dripped with sarbasm, is you were the only one, othem than me, who said we should look at other options. I am viewed (not that i give a darn what others think) as the antiChrist for saying TB was part of the problem. The double clutching is a sure sign of a QB with issues. Glad to hear we have other legitimate options at QB.

There were 3 occassions that I remember where Taylor on 3rd and long threw the short pass in the flats to a TE, HB, or receiver. I agree with you. You just don't do that when you are playing catch up.
