I\'ll say it again, Richt to FSU at the end of this season...

Bobby is losing it. FSU will lose 4-5 games this year then its outta there. BB will try to drag Jeff up into the job, but Richt is the only successful head coach with strong FSU connection (yes I know he played at Miami) and he will take the job when offered...

Interesting....wouldn't THAT throw the dawgs in a tizzy? Lessee, who could the dogs get for a coach if that happens? I know!! O'Leary's available!!!

whadda kick in the ass that would be!

I don't think that's likely, but they couldn't get a better one.

Or what about O'Leary to FSU? Not beyond the realm of possibilities at all....

Ah, the annual coaching carousel - what fun baseless speculation is...

Richt is pretty good coach. Makes questionable game-situation decisions. This doesn't really help us or hurt us either way. We gotta beat UGA because they're our rival. We need to be FSU because they're in the way of ACC championships.

Damned if you do....

Donn-n is still available isn't he?

You could be right if Ugag has the season they expect. What if they loose to Bama, Tenn, Fla? What if they slip up against Kentucky. What if we beat them. Does F$U still go after him even if they lose four or five games?

Re: I\'ll say it again, Richt to FSU at the end of this season...

i dont think he will go to fsu, i think he knows he would be under much heavier scrutiny than he is at ugag, in other words if you lose 2 games during a season at fsu you have failed. the word out of fsu is they want mack brown and he is a former alumnus. it is nice to see them take some lumps, since they have dominated for so long. i think the ugag party will end soon, i see them with 3 losses by the end of the regular season. the bubble will burst. they are not that good.

Amato?

He's a NC State guy, but why wouldn't he consider it?

BTW people have been saying JoePa is done for years. I'm not so sure Bobby is willing to go out like that. He still has that fire and wants to go out on top with the program in good shape.

no way would fsu consider oleary, it aint gonna happen.

Remember that Mickey Andrews turned down the Titans DC job 2 years ago. That must have been for a reason. Although Mickey is loosing favor with Nole fans lately.

Very logical posters on WarChant convinced me that Andrews had been promised the head job at FSU. Of course things could change but I think it would work out OK for them because Mickey would only coach a little while.

Having said that I'm not scared of him one bit as a HC because he has been a solid coordinator and he might have trouble filling his own shoes ;-)

FSU will not offer Amato because he will not take the FSU job. He loves NCSU and he is no Curry. Following Bowden is a tough gig even with the recruiting advantage. NCSU will be renaming streets for Chuck if he enjoys George Welsh (UVA) level success.

Richt will go in a second if offered. UGA is NOT lower stress. FSU has big recruiting advantages over every ACC school. UGA is at a handicap to Fla and UTutor, possibly even to Bama and LSU. Not to mention working for Dooley and Adams. There is a difference between having a supportive administration and having a meddling one.

And Richt would be my top choice if I was a FSU fan. He has done a fine job other than a few bonehead decisions that are correctable.

Mack Brown would be GREAT for GT. We would split the series with them if he was the coach at FSU.

Re: I\'ll say it again, Richt to FSU at the end of this season...

FSU would NEVER take Richt. The whole time Richt was at FSU the fan base complained about his play-calling. Whenever there was a complaint about coaching at FSU it always came down to Richt. If the O was playing well most fans figured Bobby was reining Richt in.

Richt has done OK at Georgia, but no way would Richt even be under consideration IMHO.

FSU could probably get anyone they wanted.

Re: I\'ll say it again, Richt to FSU at the end of this season...

GTflunkout,

I agree that FSU could get just about anyone they wanted. FL found out they couldn't exactly though. There will be a lot of high profile coaches that won't want to coach after Bobby. Tough act to follow. They are booing him now, but he'll be a legend. They'll be able to find a quality coach. St. Bobby isn't gone yet. This season isn't over yet either.

FSU fans will be down on any OC. They expect to paste everyone with 60 pts!

Re: I\'ll say it again, Richt to FSU at the end of this season...

I predict BB will only go out after a very good season. Who knows about this one yet. I do not think, if it turns out not to be a good season, he will go.

Re: I\'ll say it again, Richt to FSU at the end of this season...

I don't see Bobby retiring anytime soon. He enjoys his situation down there and the supporters like him. Richt, on the other hand, I think will jump ship without too much provocation.
I see him as having one foot in and one foot out.

Re: I\'ll say it again, Richt to FSU at the end of this season...

I doubt Richt leaves until Bobby retires. Richt's wife is from FSU and MUCH ties to that program.

Many at FSU were glad to see him go. He was blamed for the OU loss.

I actually think after next year Bobby will retire no matter what.

I kinda feel bad for Bobby he is VERY old. He probably should have left after the OU loss.

I think he will be the target of MUCH criticism over the next couple of years.

You cant put your kids in jobs under you. You dont see Beemer's kid working for him.

Oh well I just hope we can take it to him in the flats.

Re: I\'ll say it again, Richt to FSU at the end of this season...

I have perpetuated a statement of mine, "Bobby would retire once he became the leader over Paterno, and Paterno decided to retire also.

However, I do thing Bobby would go ahead and retire without sewing up the record if he continued to have bad years. If this year were to turn into a four or five loss year, he would probably retire at the end of this year.

My thoughts on the coach to succeed him:

Amato, No
Andrews, No
Richt, Maybe, but not the first choice
Jeff Bowden, No
Tater Tot, No
Tommy, Yes

Tommy appears to have the brightest mind of them all. He is dangerous with his offensive ideas and would be deadly with the defensive material he would have at FSU.

ahso, I think you might be right. I forgot about Tommy. He is just getting groomed, IMO.

Re: I\'ll say it again, Richt to FSU at the end of this season...

The only way Bobby is going out is on a streatcher. I do not think that he will retire if he is still able to coach. He has too much drive in him.
