Good post. I think you may be correct in your assessments.

Very good post and well-timed. Directing criticism towards those in power as opposed endless ranting on message boards is much, much more productive. People can email/write a letter to Braine and/or Clough and will get a response more than likely.

I do think that Stingtalk can provide a necessary outlet for different opinions and concerns regarding the program and what is being done or not being done, but a lot of posts seem to be neither constructive or well-thoughout as yours was.

I have been as vocal as anyone about DB, CG and BOB and the poor job they have done. I think it is time to move past all this and start looking at what we can do for the program.

1. Everyone who has a complaint with any of the above individuals needs to send an email or letter to Wayne Clough. I sent him one during the search a year ago and received a very nice response from him. All this berating of the school is becoming counter-productive.

2. There will not be a coaching change this year. DB will not fire CG. CG will not resign. I want to see the change as much as anyone but it simply will not happen. Get use to the idea and move on. All we can do is pray that the staff improves before our program takes a severe hit.

3. Any and all criticism of players must stop. They only did what the coaching staff instructed them to do. They may have seemed to given up during some games but I don’t believe that to be so. I think their frustrations finally reached a point they just weren’t sure of what to do. They are all fine young men who are giving their hearts and souls to our beloved institution.

4. We should do everything we can to help recruits to choose GT. We are not accomplishing this by continuing to run down our program because of the failures of a few. We may not have direct contact with these young men but our attitudes do reach out to them.

Yes I am hurting. In spite of this the best thing I can do for the greatest education institution in the world is to stand proudly by the Georgia Institute of Technology and thank God we have a long and magnificent tradition envied by countries throughout the world. I will move forward.
