I just knew we would beat Notre Dame last week. I even predicted in the prediction thread a 27-3 beating of the Irish by the Jackets. Pretty spot on if I do say so myself. Its the same thing every year, open up strong, raise the expectation level, and "clank", Gailey ends up smacking you upside the head with a frying pan.

Gentlemen, the script has been written already. If you can't remember the chapter, just review your notes from any of the past 5 seasons. This week we have Samford, and I expect Gailey to have our players ready to run "Vanilla" as expected.

We should win this game, hard to get too excited about it. Our players will be focused on BC the following week by halftime. Problem is, our coaches probably won't be. I just see disaster looming. Been there, done that, check please...

Someone give me some alcohol, I may as well start drinking now. I hope to be in a complete daze by mid-season so I don't have to think about the inevitable disappointment right around the corner.

We're only one game into the season. How can anyone be excited about that. The end of the season can't get here soon enough.

:ugh:

What a sad way to go through life, especially through football season, the best time of year in the whole wide world.

Feel free to end your viewing of the season now. Some of us wait on baited breath for the first opening kickoff and dread seeing that last second tic by.:bash: Feel free to switch to the NFL.

You guys should lighten up. All he was saying is he's stressed over the season, not that he doesn't want to watch GT and wants to watch the NFL or something.

Hey, if you aren't worried about every game for the Jackets, then you haven't been a GT fan very long. I've seen us beat the best (Miami, '05), and lose to the worse (Duke, '03).

Hahaha.

*laughs and points at BOR*

Drink yourself out of your misery, dude. You're not a fan, you're codependent. Never let your happiness be entirely dictated by the actions of a woman or a sports team.

Lighten up, BOR! You've really got to change your lunch menu on Fridays if it's making you feel like this every week. ;)

How I've missed you Tony.

I say "mild to moderate depression", currently.

Gotta love the colors on that graph, anyway.

I loved reading that post. Hilarious.

Sad thing is, I know what he means. Hope we can pull it out this year 'cause YOU NEVER REALLY KNOW!!

wasn't some other font doing something similar like this last year? he'd predict a loss every game and just be "woe is me". is this a page out of his book?

it's kinda goofy. not hilarious .. but yeah, it is funny.

I haven't missed a handful of home games since 73'.

I'm not worried about every game.

Most teams have up and down seasons. Not just us. The one that doesn't is usually the National Champ.

My expectations are extremely high, but I don't go into games thinking dooms day.

I certainly don't go into games or seasons thinking something like, "Oh well here we go again."

I tend to be a much more positive thinker. I also look at the positives when things go wrong and try to think of ways to fix what went wrong.

I told an Architect on a site visit yesterday that "No true Tech fan is ever confident of a win." That's all BOR's post was - evidence he's a true Tech fan. It's not like it's a Chan thing, we had the same thing in 01, in 99, and when Bill Curry was coach.

Now why did you have to bring Bill Curry in to this? What are you saying exactly? ;)

honestly, i think you guys should hire Johnelle Smith as your next HC... then you wouldn't have to worry about underperforming throughout the season, you'd just expect it.

Johnelle is the opposing team's favorite coach all year long.

You are great GT Terriffic! Does that fix your ego??

Yeah, seriously. I was still nervous about the ND game until the middle of the 3rd quarter when we got to 23-points.

My friend who went to Ohio State was convinced we had it won by the middle of the 2nd.

BC terrifies me. I feel the same way as BoR...a handy win over BC could fix that for me though and get me truly excited about this year.

Beat BC and we still have Clemson, VT, Maryland, Miami and UGA to overcome. Our A game will be needed and severly tested each time. Then there are the trap games. :ugh:

Why do we do this to ourselves BOR? We could take up finger painting, cooking or knitting instead. Let's see, is that knit one, pearl two or vice versa?
