I\'m going to the VT-Marshall game tonight

Should be a great game.

This is a regional game, and Marshall is dying for a piece of the Hokies. Beating VT is their ticket to legitamacy.

Marshall's Leftwich can lose his Heisman status tonight, and the Hokies are guning to take him down. Playing well could go a long way for him.

Beamer was on the news all week talking about how the crowd needs to be loud because Marshall runs a no-huddle offense. As if Hokie fans need any more encouragment to be loud.

I'm not confident in VT's QB situation. Bryan Randall is NOT even close to Michael Vick, which I've heard comparisons on ESPN. Michael Vick's clone does play for VT, but he will not be playing. That would be Marcus Vick.

If Marshall can stop Suggs and Jones (a tall order) and force VT to pass like Pitt did last year, it will be a tough win for the Hokies.

I like VT by a TD or less. Special teams will come up big again for VT.

Marshall will lose this one. They may have a great QB and a decent offense but VT will run that ball down their throats and control the clock thereby keeping Leftwich and company off the field.

This game will be U-G-L-Y after the first quarter. Marshall's defense rivals that of UConn or Vandy.

Throw in that special teams of Va Tech and you wind up with a 58-22 type of score.

Mini game report. Perfect weather. Very loud, enthusiastic crowd. I love Hokie crowds.

Heard from the stands, "I think we're gonna run it." Lesson learned: 400 yards running beats 400 yards passing every time.

Leftwich is a great passer. Had it not been for all those drops in the 1st half it would it been a different game. The guy is big enough to play tackle.

Had 50 yard line seats, 1/2 way up on the home side. Don't know exactly how I ended up with that, but was mighty pleased.

As I was going to visit some friends in the 4th quarter I start walking down the aisle and here comes the Governor, Mark Warner, up the steps. Shook his hand and he says "what's going on?"

I was big time wrong about the outcome. I'm on a big roll lately....0 for the last 5 ATS.

I was there, too. I was in the student section with some friends of mine. I was easy to pick out. The only 50 year old student with gray hair!!

It played out about as I thought. Leftwich is awesome - if he could only run....

The Hokies look pretty tough this year. After LSU, Beamer said his program is in the best shape it's ever been in. Maybe he's right.

I spent 1999 and 2000 at VT. Also, my parents live in Christiansburg. I graduated from the "real" Tech in 1973. I now live in Centreville, VA but will be moving to Bay St. Louis, Mississippi next month.

As much as I love VT, it doesn't compare to my feelings for GT.

Wish that game between the real TECH and 'ginny Tech had not gotten cancelled due to lightning.

Your right Beeware, I think that would have been a great game. They weren't as good as they were the year before -- Vick didn't play as well as a sophomore. They might have beaten us - but I think it would have been real close.

I've heard Chris Fowler make a passing remark every once in a while about Lee's car getting torched.
