For me, it's good to see a S/A that's primary desire is wanting to play football........Don't matter where coach, just let me play somewhere coach, anywhere coach, just let me play.
Many years ago when I coached the grade school kids, Tommy Nobis was the big news. Had about 6 kids on a team of about a 15-16 kid team, that wanted to be a middle linebacker and have the #60 on their jersey. Problem was, their parents insisted that their child get to be the middle linebacker too. Naturally some of the kids had NO idea what a linebacker did except get talked about on tv.
Long story short, a couple of the kids quit since they couldn't play linebacker like Nobis. Did not want to and never did want to play football.
Thrills my heart to see a college player willing move from the backfield to the line.
I want him on my ALL GT, ALL COLLEGE, ALL AMERICAN team.
Way to go Austin, you da' man.
