And I know this belongs on the other board, but what the heck...

A buddy of mine called up Tuesday morning and told me he had landed 2 tickets for game 1 of the WS at Fenway park - and if I could get him to Boston, he would give me the other ticket. Everything worked out and we were able to fly out yesterday morning, spend the day in Boston and catch the game last night. We flew back in early this morning.

I've thought from time to time about a top 10 (or 20, or whatever) list of top sports things I would like to do and seeing the Red Sox in the WS @ Fenway would've never crossed my mind - I never would've guessed the possibility would even exist.

To make this somewhat GT related, what are some of the top things you guys would want to do if possible? I've made some of mine happen in the last few years, some may still happen, and some probably never will. But here are a few....

1) See GT in a BCS bowl, preferably Rose or Sugar
2) See GT in a final four (did that in San Antonio)
3) See GT in Omaha (I've got no excuse here - hopefully we can get back soon and I'll go)
4) Masters tournament (I've attended several times and it still hasn't lost any meaning to me)
5) Fenway for the WS
6) See the Falcons in a Super Bowl
7) See the Packers at Lambeau
8) Attend a British Open at one of the big ones (Carnoustie, St Andrews, Royal Troon)
9) See a game in all ACC and SEC stadiums (hopefully, with GT) - I'm about halfway there

I've also attend both SEC and ACC championship games & basketball conference championship tournaments for both.

Pretty cool Contact, I bet that was an awesome experience. Being at the 1990 NC game against Nebraska was a great experience and one I will always remember, so was being at the Final Four a couple of years ago in San Antonio.

See Tech beat Georgia in person.

That's about it, really.

Good Deal CB!

A few things come to mind off the top of my head that I've been fortunate to witness.....

The Braves in the WS
This year's GT game at ND
The Masters
Games at Fenway, Wrigley, and Yankee Stadium
The Atlanta Olympics
Kentucky Derby
Daytona 500
The 1990 NC Game
The GT - GA triple overtime game.
The ACC BB Championship the last time here in Atlanta

A few of the Sports related events I want to experience...

The Rose Bowl
The British Open
Indy 500

I want to see GT play a BCS game in the Rose Bowl for all the marbles.

In person I would like to see:

GT beat hydrant humpers at BDS
GT beat fleabags at Sanford and Son Stadium
GT winning MNC
GT beat ND, at ND was even sweeter
A game at every SEC/ACC stadium (don't care about carolinas except clemson)
Florida/Georgia (1 weekend out of the year I bleed Orange/Blue along with White/Gold)
Texas/Tamu
Havard/Yale (I dunno why, guess I just like history, Im sure Id be disapointed)
Army/Navy
Ohio State/Michigan
BAMA/Auburn
World Cup match
Big time Rugby or Aussie Rules Football

Havard/Yale (I dunno why, guess I just like history...
Back in 1992 I saw Penn play Columbia at Franklin Field - *the* oldest stadium in any division.

I was actually pretty bummed that they weren't playing in grainy black and white with leather helmuts in fast motion.

Wow I don't have that much.
2002 World Series Game 6
2007 GT @ ND

If you'd like Army/Navy tickets this year in Baltimore email me immediately. It is a site, although I enjoyed the Army or Navy games more at their home stadium. Army next year will be a great visit.

Edited: I had an offer to get tickets for $250.00 in a package deal from the Ravens. Sorry about that, but if still interested, I can check and see if still available. But for the future, I can get tickets any time in Baltimore and probably anytime in Phil. And I can probably still get tickets this year, I just don't know the price yet.

1.)I've had the pleasure of going to Lambeau 7 times in one year, not last year but the year before. nm, 2 yrs ago I think, hell it was the yr Minn won there in the 1st round when Randy Moss did the pulling down his pants celebration in the endzone. Lambeau for a playoff game was a big one for me as a huge sports fan, I highly recommend it.

2.) been to a regular season Phil.Eagles @ Pittsburgh Steelers game, that was big time atmosphere.

3.)NFC title game: ATL @ Philly 2 yrs ago

4.)Kansas City @ Oakland Monday Night Football about 6 or 7 yrs ago

5.)Washington St.(when Jason Gesser was QB) @ Stanford on the farm, that was fun as hell.

6.)GT @ University of Illinois-Chicago basketball 2 or 3 yrs ago.

7.)too many Tech football games to mention, all at home though.

8.)2000 Iron Bowl in Auburn

9.)ohhh back to #7, i forgot, I went to Death Valley last yr for the Clemson game, only 1 road game

10.) Peach Bowl yr before last Miami & LSU

11.) bunch of Brewers games @ Miller Park and a few Braves games @ theTed

that's about all the shrimp i can think of forest.

Was in the upper deck when Hank Aaron hit #715(freshman year).

Was as close to Larry Mize as a fan could be when he chipped in at the Masters.

those were pretty good but hard to beat the kids being born (just glad there weren't 50,000 fans there)

'84 & '85 were memorable years for me as far as GT is concerned:

*Being in club level in '84 at Sanford Stadium for GT- 35 UGA-18.
*Being at The Omni for the '85 ACC championship: GT- 57 UNC -54 --followed a week later at The Omni to see GT- 70 Syracuse -53 to advance to the Sweet Sixteen.
*Being at BDS in '85 for two-in-a-row over UGA: GT- 20 UGA- 16.

-----

My overall most 'memorable moment' in sports as well as my 'worst defeat' in sports were events that I saw live:

1991 Citrus Bowl: GT- 45 Nebraska-21 to win the national championship.

1981 NFC Divisional Playoff: Dallas- 30 Atlanta- 27 (Falcons blow 27-17 lead in 4th w/ 6+ minutes to go).

-----

Did make a trip to Fenway in 1998 while in Boston on business, went alone and was able to buy a ticket on the 1st base line 15 rows up --during interleague play against the Phillies (would have preferred vs. another AL team, but I'm not complaining).

I covered the nationally televised Tech - Michigan basketball game at the Omni for the 'Nique back in the 80s. Sat at center court at the press table seat and at some point during the game, the ball went outta bounds right for my head so I caught it and handed it back to the Michigan player who barely stopped himself from crashing into the table.

I was in the #11/12 bleachers for that one too. Not sure if you remember, but there was a large group of us up there that started singing The Ramblin Wreck.

Also...

On #18 for Nicklaus' last putt to win his last Masters.
2000 British Open for Tiger's win at St. Andrews.
1999 Ryder Cup at The Country Club in Brookline, MA.
NHL All Star game weekend in L.A.
MLB All Star game @ Turner Field
Multiple World Series games @ Turner Field
GT's MNC victory over Nebraska in the Citrus Bowl
The Inaugural Brickyard 400
Lemon Drop Kid's victory in The Belmont
Funny Cide's victory in The Preakness
