56 to 27 in the first half.

In the second half, however, we've outscored them 32 to 24.

Does this team know that the game starts in the first quarter?

I honestly believe that the coaches do not know this...

And whatever Chan has been doing to prepare the team for road games needs to stop. Unless the opponent is as inept as 0-6 ND, we really need to play the entire game.

This all goes back to the mentality of Gailey. I have heard it before, but saw it again most recently this morning on the GT Sports Today program. Chan says he is not a motivator. He is not going to put articles on peoples lockers to get them motivated. He expects them to be mature enough to know that they need to get themselves motivated and handle their business. These guys are not professionals though. A very small percentage of these guys will be making thier living in the league. He is simply not capable of getting them in the right frame of mind to play a majority of the time - home or away.

I think Pepper said something to the effect, "How would you like to make a living from what goes through the head of teenagers?" College and the pros are just too different to try to adopt pro head coaching to the college game. I think Chan understands that as evidenced by his yearning for a good pro job again.

This statement comes off as very 'NFL-ish" doesn't it? He's got the wrong approach --college kids do need motivation. College kids need to block out the distractions --classes, homework, exams, girlfriends ..whatever. Professional's are professionals, and while everyone has distractions --it's their job to motivate themselves --else they won't perform and they won't have a job.
