Anyone have an update or information concerning this possible injury per AJC at the end of this article:

Anyone know anything about this? I hope it's not broken...IF it is how long could this take to heal & will it bother him all season?

Injury update
A-back Greg Smith might have broken his collarbone in a fluke injury during Monday's practice, Tech coach Paul Johnson said. Safety Dominique Reese got hurt early in practice; it didn't look serious. Guard A.J. Smith (elbow) was on the practice field in a yellow no-contact jersey but could be back at full practice by Wednesday, Johnson said. Quarterback Josh Nesbitt (groin) also is expected back Wednesday.

I broke my collarbone playing football my sophomore year of high school. It takes around six weeks or so. I was told six to eight but was back playing again in six. I did not have any problems after that.

Adrian Peterson made it back for this bowl game to play after a broken collarbone, he should be fine by this fall....

Never a good thing, but seems to be one of the easier fractures to heal up from quickly. Cousin had it happen in HS and like the above post, he was back to normal in about 2 months. And given the shape that Smith and the other players are in, with the summer to recover he should be fine.

The thing that sucks about collar bones is that they rarely heal strait.

beej67,
has two breaks in his left clavicle, and has to avoid contact sports as a result

beej, is that why they make those "straight" jokes about you???

:laugher:

my brother broke his clavicle once, it is painful but not for that long. but it is a move they teach in many fighting styles, to break the collar bone as it will keep your opponent from being able to use that arm very effectively, and you can get away
