From ESPN:

Fool me once… As Virginia Tech found out Saturday, Georgia Tech does not live by a 'forgive-and-forget' principle. In fact, the Yellow Jackets have taken great pride in avenging their most humiliating defeats. Here is a list of Georgia Tech's biggest losses (by margin) since 2003, and how the Jackets responded in the rematch. You might notice a pattern here…

1. 2005 Utah wins by 28 points, Rematch hasn't taken place
2. 2005 VPI wins by 44 points, 2006 GT by 11 points
3. 2004 Miami wins by 24 points, 2005 GT by 4 points
4. 2004 UNC wins by 21 points, 2005 GT by 6 points
5. 2003 Duke wins by 24 points, 2004 GT by 17 points
6. 2003 Clemson wins by 36 points, 2004 GT by 4 points

This should be a message that we will have the last laugh when people run up the score on us.

Didn't they leave out UGA?

Anyway, saw this earlier on ESPN, one of the announcers mentioned it, and the other two basically immediately dismissed it saying VT would win easily. I do remember Kirk Herbstreit picking GT earlier today, he's always been partial to us.

No this is all fact. I just looked at the UGAy results. In 2002, they beat us 51-7. Since this trend is noted to have started in 2003, UGAy is not included. In 2003, they came close to beating us by 21, but didn't, beating us 34-17. Thus keep us undefeated in our rematches after getting beat by a margin of 21 points or higher.

Yeah, sorry, wasn't trying to be negative, I didn't know what the margin was considered to be, and actually I didn't remembeer the 51-7 was 02.

I think it's awesome how our team has responded, I just hope we're finally mature enough to keep that "other" trend from biting us. We obviously have the potential for a truly special season. We are totally in control of our own fate now.

Exactly right, GTCalvinist. This is not the year for us to lose to weak teams. However, remember that our loss to NCST last year came after our horrible play at Blacksburg last year. I think the silly loss to NCST last year was due to our emotional state after our beatdown. However, last year's UVA loss was just flat out horrible. But you take away the NCST loss and UVA loss we are 9-2. So this is the year I predict we lose to no one that we are supposed to beat.

The only game from that group where the opposing team could be accused of running up the score on us would be the Utah game. In the rest of those games the opponents took their foot of the pedal.
