Interesting news coming out of Blacksburg

No kidding! I read this earlier today and was very surprised. I thought for sure that VT would go with a platoon quarterback system again this year. I guess Glennon has the "experienced quarterback" thing going for him; he's not a stud, but he's probably not going to lose a game for you either.

I think this probably plays to other teams' advantage. Glennon has had big problems if you shake him up early (which I have no doubt our DL will be able to do).

They have a senior WR who is now going to be backing up Glennon. I don't know what the deal is but maybe they felt Tyrod was being wasted without having a year in the system just to learn.

Look at PJ's comments about Nesbitt. He is pissed he wasn't red-shirted last year because according to PJ, he didn't learn a thing about how to play QB.

That doesn't surprise me, but I still hadn't heard it. Got a link?

And I share his sentiment. I was always miffed with the idea that putting a guy in to have him take a snap and haul ass meant that he was improving as a player and getting "experience".

He made a reference in an AJC article about a month ago where it was an obvious "read between the lines" reference. He was not happy about Nesbitt not being redshirted last year and made some type of comment about if you're going to waste a redshirt, at least teach them the position. Something to that effect.

Under the old regime, that was the extent of quarterback "development."

Not much of a surprise but the Taylor RS deicision has changed.

I'm actually somewhat surprised. All the "INSIDERS" had an excuse that VT wasn't going to be good this year no matter who started for the Hokies....

and that they were "saving" Tyrod Taylor for next year.

Guess not.
