As of today...with no new signing class...we have the following on scholarship:

23 on offense
31 on defense (including Donley)
54 TOTAL on scholarship.

Even if we sign 26 players and have Melton come in early....that puts us at 80 and leaves 5 ships open. This is not too bad since you can only play so many new kids at once...and we only graduate 13 next year.

Additionally, this leaves scholarships available to be earned by kids like Scott Blair at K, Mohammed Yahiaoui or Kevin Crosby at P, Andrew Smith (Sr), Calvin Booker (Sr), Bret White (Sr), Tyler Evans (Jr), etc.

Next year is supposed to be a really good year in the state of Ga for recruiting. Is there a limit on how many guys a school can sign each year or can they sign as many as needed just as long as you don't go over 85? With all the problems that a coaching change can have with recruiting, we might want to hang on to a few extra ships and use them next year.

blair, booker and evans were paying Tech and playing without scholarships?

25 is the limit in a given year. You can have an athlete graduate early, and start school in Januray, and they can count towards last years 25. (i.e. Tyler Melton)

Could Donley become a two way player and really stand out as a star nationally for us? It just seems like he could have the time of his life the next few years and garner all kinds of attention doing it.
