I know they are skewed because we had Tenuta keeping the opposing team's points down, but ESPN had numbers for GT since 2001 when scoring:

When GT scores 20 or more:
55-9
When GT scores 30 or more:
31-3
When GT scores 40 or more:
13-1
When GT scores 50 or more:
4-0

Let's go 50 points!!! :)

Under Coach Johnson it's pretty simple:

Scoring more than 17 points: 13-0
Scoring 17 points or less: 1-5

The sample size of just 4 games isn't large enough to make me feel warm and cozy. Plus, scoring 50 on VT is not very likely.

Who among us would have thought we would score 49 on FSU? The Seminoles were baffled, but their front four were some very good athletes. I don't predict that we will score 50 points on Virginia Tech, but our offense presents some gawd-awful problems when it is executed properly. The addition of just and ADEQUATE passing attack changes the equation enormously. There is no comparison between what we are running now to what we were running last year in Blacksburg. Yes, I concede our defense is questionable---but I have seen CPJ and staff tinker with things from week to week--and they are fixing problems as they come up pretty decently. We are 5-1 in what most considered the HARD HALF of our season. Even if we go 4-2 from here on out, that's a pretty decent year. These coaches can coach, and maybe more importantly, the kids believe in the coaches and are listening and responding.

I've been saying it all week. We have to score in the mid 40s to win.

We're gonna put up points boys. This is our statement and could set the tone for an Orange Bowl Victory. The players know this and mark my words, they will execute. VT will have to score 35+ to beat us.

So, what your saying is the less ammount of points we score the less chance we have too win?

I don't think we score in the 40s Saturday. More like 30ish. So the D has to do better if we are to win.

I say 30 or more gets it done this week. Our D is a little better equipped to stop VT and they haven't exactly been world beaters away from Lane.

If the defense can slow down their running game and the crowd can consistently cause noise to help disrupt their timing in the passing game (and hopefully a false start or 3) we'll be in good shape.
