I heard an interesting radio interview with Terry Bowden yesterday (I live in Gulf Shores, AL, heard on a Pensacola radio station on regionally syndicated Southern Sports Tonight show) about how since he left Auburn, he has turned down every interview invitation to focus on his broadcasting career, but now Bowden is potentially interested in returning to coaching, and in that spirit has quit his radio talk show in Orlando and scaled back other media stuff, as well as is attending practices at F$U (watching his former qb and assistant coach Jimbo install a new offense) and Clempsun, so that he will be potentially ready for an interview in December/January if the right one comes up.

Now, not to start another Chan-bashing session here, but if this year does not live up to expectation (see any number of other threads on that subject, I'll leave it at beating UGag and winning a real bowl game), I would love to have Terry Bowden in here. What he did his first two years at Auburn was incredible.

I don't see TB's chances of getting a top tier team again as being so hot. His 1998 season at Ahhwwbn didn't leave a good light for his future as a HC. Besides, I'm anxious to see how CCG does this year. I still have a good feeling about this CCG and I do think he could coach circles around T. Bowden. We'll just wait and see.

Terry Bowden lacks any good judgment and/or class. He was a disaster as a head coach at Auburn and set their program back several years.

He was entirely self-involved...did not interract with his players well....missed multiple practices for media opportunities...had recruiting issues with his staff...oh...and how about his affair with an Auburn cheerleader.

Terry Bowden and GaTech would be like oil and water.

Was she not good looking or something?

Heck, I couldn't resist. Yes, as long as there are still alumni alive who remember Pepper Rodgers as our coach, Terry Bowden absolutely would never have a chance at the Tech job.

What I don't remember is his Auburn teams. I thought they won every game but one or two the first two seasons. What did they do after that?

I would not.

Terry Bowden is the idiot savant of the Bowden family, and unless I'm in error, Chan is better than .500 vs Bowdens anyway.

Tater Tot is at the bottom of my list, just below Bill Lewis and Vince Dooley.

T. Bowden wasn't good enough for Auburn, and he darn sure isn't good enough for Tech.

First time I saw him on the sidelines, I immediately was reminded of the old "Dutch Cleanser" can and the picture on the side of it.

Wow, it never ceases to amaze me some of the absolutely stupid things I read on message boards. Thank God you are no where near making decisions for our program. Terry Bowden is a dumbass who would never be able to thrive at GT. He took over a talent laden team, brought a new offensive scheme in which created his instant success, but couldn't last the long haul because he's like a used car salesman. Auburn's program which is vastly easier to manage than GT's because it doesn't have any stringent requirements in recruiting, was set back severely because of Bowden. The alumni and fans hate him, but wow, he had a couple of good years, so he must be a PERFECT fit for GT.

No offense, but what a dumb statement. I wouldn't want Tater anywhere near BDS except for maybe in the booth doing commentary, which he sucks at too.

Actually, Bowden's name surfaced as a candidate to replace O'Leary at one point. There was a rumor that he even had an interview. But, thank God, it didn't happen.
