Every time in the past 6 years we've been beaten by 21 points or more, we beat that team the next year. (at least according to ESPN, I didn't check the stats myself)

While I do enjoy winning revenge matches, I wish we had fewer of them. I also wish it were 7 years instead of 6.

Has it been over 6 years since we took the 51-7 whooping from UGa?

Edit: Never mind, that must have been 7 years ago.

2002 --five years ago. So that does not hold true with UGA.

Seven years ago GT won 27-15.

Upon further research --this stat holds true with exception to UGA in '02 (51-7 ..L 34-17 in '03). GT lost the '05 Emerald Bowl to Utah 38-10, but of course there was no return game.

So this stat does hold validity for ACC games only.
Here's the data:

2006 Clemson L 7-31
2007 Clemson W 13-3

2005 VT L 7-51 (damn that score again)
2006 VT W 38-27

2004 UNC L 13-34
2005 UNC W 27-21

2004 Miami L 3-27
2005 Miami W 14-10

2003 Clemson L 3-39
2004 Clemson W 28-24

2003 Duke L 17-41 :ugh:
2004 Duke W 24-7

note: In 2004 & 2005 GT lost back-to-back to UVA 10-30 and 17-27 --hence why the researcher at ESPN used the margin of 21 for his data.

Don't you just love losing so many games by 21 or more points so you'll come back and win the next time around?
