A couple of articles on Notre Dame. The theme up there seems to be bracing for a mediocre season:

This one is funny, Weis insists he won't have to throw "30 or 40 times" in the game. Didn't Quinn throw 38 times last year?

I saw this morning where those sumbiatches have 9 home games. Herbstreet is saying maybe 5-7, I believe it was him saying they could easily lose their first 4 or 5. 9 home games dayum.

Sept. 1 GEORGIA TECH
Sept. 8 at Penn State
Sept. 15 at Michigan
Sept. 22 MICHIGAN STATE
Sept. 29 at Purdue
Oct. 6 at UCLA
Oct. 13 BOSTON COLLEGE
Oct. 20 USC
Nov. 3 NAVY
Nov. 10 AIR FORCE
Nov. 17 DUKE
Nov. 24 at Stanford

I can see a 1-5 start, with the win coming vs. Mich St. I can see a possible 6-6 finish though (probably get a New Year's Day bid ). Remember the 'Irish luck' --they always seem to pull one out that they have no business winning.

I despise Notre Dame :angryfire:

Definitely agree with GT65_UGA89. The only team in the first half of their schedule that they have a shot at beating is Michigan State.

I agree about their first half schedule. Also, I don't see them beating USC anywhere! :laugher:

I guess my eyes were fooling me at 5 this morning, thanks for the clarification. You can still bet a NYD bowl game though. Whoever choses them if they go will have it moved.

The certainly have a shot at beating us. I've been saying since last year that we've got a great chance at a win, but don't start talking like it's a sure thing.

I don't think ND is bowl eligible at 6-6. 6-6 teams are only allowed to bowl if needed to fulfill a conference slot.

Probable Loses

MI - better talent than ND
USC - better talent and coaching than ND

Possible loses
GT - I don't think our new OC will start milking the clock in the mid 2nd quarter
UCLA - should be able to run on ND
MSU - has a pretty good record against ND over the past 6 years

Possible wins
Purdue - I just don't like Purdue football
Penn State - they killed PSU last year
BC - by midseason, ND will be the better team

Probable Wins
Air Force - not enough talent to beat ND
Navy - not enough talent to beat ND
Stanford - not enough talent or coaching to beat ND
Duke - only beats ND in smugness

MSU - I'm not sure they have lost to ND this century
I'm sure you're being facetious but ND did have a major comeback in a driving rainstorm last year to beat MSU.

My mistake, ND 40 MSU 37. I thought they dropped that game to MSU last year. I must have been thinking about wins against the spread.

Last year they won a couple like that. Not counting ours, either, which could have been a loss, and a couple other games like ours. Last season could have been pretty bad for them.

ND has had outstanding recruiting and apparently has an excellent coaching staff. I'm glad we are getting them early in the season before they have a lot of time to jell. Even so, we've got to take our A game to South Bend.
