Is anyone else frightened by UVA & NC St.?

I mean really! UVA & NC St. losing to teams like Western Michigan, Akron, Southern Miss (not that this is as bad as the others), Wyoming (not a loss, but close enough), Pitt.

Ugggh.....

I don't like "Man-Teets" Amato, but I want him to stay. Kind of like Cynthia McKinney - they are an embarrassment, but so ineffective, that I don't care.

Wouldn't mind seeing Groh go. We can't beat him (until Thursday, I hope).

Not afraid of NCState, UNC, or Duke at all. Amato may not survive the season as he is "losing it"...literally and figuratively.

I am glad we do not play Wake because they are going to be trouble for someone this year with the new QB Skinner. If they beat Ole Miss to go 4-0 they are in good shape come bowl time.

Maryland fought back against a good WV team and will still be a game to prepare for although I still believe they are looking at another 5-6 season.

UVA has to be reckoned with because they have the athletes. If they beat us they can rally in conference play...if they do not beat us I predict that they fold. btw...a loss to Pittsburgh is not a bad thing necessarily. They are definitely having QB issues.

If we beat UVA...and we should...I think this definitely solidifies us in the top half of the conference and in contention this year along with Virginia Tech, Boston College, Clemson, FSU, and Miami.

VT has not played anyone yet but they are winning in a solid fashion....and BC is BC....always tough. Clemson is neck and neck with BC. FSU and Miami look like spots 4-6 along with us at the moment.

Hivered: Well, without a doubt both NC State and Virginia have better athletes than anyone except maybe Notre Dame among the 3 teams we have played so far. But both of them and Duke are so destitute for good coaching that losing to any of these 3 is unimaginable.

I am not even sure NCState has the athletes anymore....particularly with their stringent academic requirements. I think Amato wants them to join the Ivy League! :laugher:

There are no excuses for us to lose to them this year after what I saw from them today.

After losing to Duke, nothing is unimaginable. With that said, Thursday night should ender very well. Statistically this SHOULD be a good season.

Guys it's a long season yet. New QB's emerge, changes are made, anything can happen.

We have an average offense at best which means every game will be close. We also play not to lose again keeping games close. One of those teams is likely to just have a good or lucky game against us and we will likely lose unfortunately.

It has been that way for 40 years at Tech. We are on probation and have little depth as usual. Our offense is not going to score a lot of points. I just don't see us rolling through MD, UVA, NCS, etc., even this year.

"Down" teams need to be reminded that their football life stinks. We rarely remind teams of that but often keep it close so that our opponent starts to believe. At that point anything can happen. I hope I'm wrong but I think it more likely we beat Miami and Georgia this year then rolling through the weak guys.

I'm worried about UVA because we haven't beaten them in many years. I'm not worried at all about NC State.

Normally I would answer yes to this question. But I'm getting the feeling that this Thursday is gonna be a statement week for the Jackets and they will separate themselves from some of the mediocre middle-of-the-pack teams in this years version of the ACC.

What does it say about our team when our fans are scared of NCST or UVA this year?

Seriously... have we become that gun shy that we fear being embaressed by terrible teams?

BS!

These teams can and will beat us given the slightest op.
We need to stomp them like they're Notre Dame. These backbiters can and will hurt us.

I wasn't scared of NC State last year, and look what happened. We dismantled them on every statistical category and lost the game on 3 astoundingly unlikely plays.

This is football, dude. Anyone can win at any time. And we haven't beaten UVA in a looong time.
