Is Charles Perkins the "Ambassador" for the 2010 Class?

Apparently so! Glad to hear that. Go watch his videos on youtube. He is a beast.

Is this 'ambassador' thing common in recruiting classes? Cause Luallen was obviously the one from last years class. If it isn't common, then our recruiting really impresses me.

I'd never really heard of it happening before. I'm sure it has but I don't think it is a norm.

Chris Jackson was acting as it in the 2008 class but when we hired CPJ, he bolted. Didn't really hurt, though.

According to GP1 on the Hive, this was a philosophy that was instilled during the 2007 recruiting season and they have been encouraging it since then.

I think the "Ambassador" label is another gay monicker invented by the guys on the Hive Insiders board.

It does sound kind of foolish (the title part) but I like the concept of what the recruiting coaches are doing with that.

Actually, Ambassador was the nickname that people gave Kyle Jackson in that recruiting class. I don't think they call it the "Ambassador Philosophy." This isn't the title, it's just a way of describing what Charles is doing and likening it to the original.

Why do have to be negative about it? This is a positive thing and it works.

The "ambassador" thing is kind of retarded. But its the same thing that happens in fraternities during rush. Once you accept a bid you want to get as many good guys around you as you can for the next 4-5 years so you start recruiting a bit yourself. It just makes sense. Everyone wants to have the people around them who are going to make them most successful.

It's pretty common at all schools now for kids who commit to help coaches recruit the rest of the class. With texting and cell phones, they all are in touch with each other anyway. I don't think there's anything unusual about Tech in this regard.
