Is Demariyus Thomas GONE?

I agree. I predict Reggie Ball will not be the starter in the Ugag game unless he's been lightin' it up all year. Whoever starts the season at No. 2 (assuming RB is No.1) will be starting at the end of the year.

this is a hell of a note if its just a case of

mistaken identity, but if DT is considering going with the Cocks I hope he thinks about...

1) how many Cock alumni are there in Dublin, Laurens Co and Central Ga where he lives?

2) living in Columbia SC for the next 4 years vs living in the ATL for the next 4 years.

3) How many miles is it from Dublin to Columbia? Dublin to ATL?

4) With Tech having reduced scholarships for the next few years, that increases the chances of playing early and playing more.

5) When Spurrier next year turns up his recruiting of 4 and 5 star WR's, how likely is he to see playing time there? How many WR has Spurrier signed this year already?

6) Oh yeah, which school's degree has the best reputation just in case you don't make it to the NFL?

We trust you'll make the right decision, its a no-Brainer!!!

Re: this is a hell of a note if its just a case of

Let us not forget we will have Xavier McGuire (6'4" 215) that also has size in there and hopefully will come through this year. That would be one heck of a four wideout set - Calvin (size & speed), McGuire (size), Thomas (size) and JJ(speed). We also have Frierson, Clark, Smith and Earls. Don't know anything about Reese, but he looks to be a speed guy. We are looking strong at WR.

On a different subject. I expect Mike Cox will be paving a road for Choice, Grant, Gause. I also expect big TE play - Peek (should be a great one) and Cooper.

We have some good ball players fellas.

Am I the most optimistic person alive?

Here's to Clemson laying out USuCk again. Too bad we can't play them too.

Re: this is a hell of a note if its just a case of

youre not the most optomistic person alive when you put it like that, man i didnt even realize that about our wideouts, and our running game, add a rather experienced o-line, and our defense, im already starting tog et excited, now lets just hope reggie shows up to play

Re: this is a hell of a note if its just a case of

The players are there...They aren't exactly All Americans(Well, I guess 1 is), but they are solid. If Reggie can keep his composure and throw the ball like he did against Auburn and UNC we will play great.

One thing I don't understand however, The coaches tell Reggie to throw it away when he gets in trouble. With 4.4 speed why do they never tell him to tuck and run as soon as he feels the pressure. There will be 5 yard losses sometimes, but there will also be 20 yard gains also. It just seems to me that on drives that he has to throw it away we get no points. If he could turn a loss of down into a 15 yard gain and a first down then we would get points more often. If we want a quarterback who doesn't run then why did we recruit a "dual-threat" quarterback?

Just a guess, but they want him looking for open receivers rather than a running route?

I don't agree. Whoever starts the season will more than likely stay as #1 for the simple fact that we don't have the depth to get other qbs ready during in-season practice.

Whoever gets the most work in spring and fall preseason will be #1.
How in the world has CG not seen enough to make the change now?

Reggie starts and finishes every game unless we blow someone out or he gets hurt. Too much experience for the others to compete with. Hopefully, our O-line does some gellin like a felon Magellan and he can become more consistent.

Re: this is a hell of a note if its just a case of

And who do you have in mind that will be getting all of these WR's the ball? CG and RB?

Re: this is a hell of a note if its just a case of

The better the depth at WR the easier it will be to get them the ball because the more we can get on the field at once, the more spread out the defense will be and the more open the short passes become. If we can eliminate the 8 guys playing within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage then we will be able to complete more and get more yardage out of short passes making it an extension of the run...meaning high percentage 6-10 yards everytime. This is how a lot of teams that are known for moving it up and down the field, but not scoring a lot of touchdowns tend to operate. We however will be able to score touchdowns, because we have Calvin"X-factor"Johnson, and a speed qaurterback, both of which are extremely dangerous inside the 20. Plus our defense will get more rest from less 3 & Outs.

Re: this is a hell of a note if its just a case of

Those short passes will definitely be working with Cox.

Re: this is a hell of a note if its just a case of

Cox is a beast, I love the kid. I wish we would get him about 3 or 4 runs a game though just to keep the defense a little more honest instead of knowing he's always going to block, and be able to make use of him on play action and fake counters also. Hopefully with a stronger OL we can use him in a few more ways in '06.

Re: this is a hell of a note if its just a case of

I heard yesterday that south carolina was going to basically redshirt him. They are doing it with Heath Batchelor. What they do is they redshirt them without using a redshirt. Heaths scholarship will not start until next Jan. I think this is probablly why Demayrius did not choose the Cocks.

He's gone alright ...gone straight down North Avenue for the next few years.
