Is GT doomed this Saturday?

Since 1983,

GT is 3-7 (almost 1-9) in games after a loss to big rival Climpsun. The three wins: 1995 Wake F. 24-23, 1996 C. Fla. 27-20, 2001 Duke 37-10. Consequently, GT is 6-2-1 in games after a victory over Climpsun.

GT has never beaten UGAG in years we lost to Climpsun. On the other hand, we usually beat the leg-humpers when we beat CU, exceptions are '92 and '97.

Tech's average record is below .500 for years it lost to Climpsun.

In conclusion, the outcome of the Climpsun game is very important to Tech's season. We will be surprised if GT beats BYU this Saturday based on this history.

Another way to look at this:

In the 7 seasons since 1995 (e.g. during the O'Leary era), GT lost only one game the week after Clemson.

That game was after a win over Clemson in 1999 (we lost at Wake the next week).
