Um...Hotseat...Florida Field is on Fire.
These fans want Zook, Foley, the entire athletic department.
The only real problem is UF just can't score.
Not even with a cheap floozie...
It's fun to watch their frontrunning fans stream out, but it's awful to watch bad football.
At least the Golden Band from Tiger Land was there. Peach Bowl all over again.

A good indicator would be me trying to reach www.fireronzook.com and being unable to connect due to "overwhelming" traffic. What possessed Florida to hire a coach Spurrier ran off?

Florida (4-3,2-2) is off to it's worst start since 1986. The Gators suffered their 2nd consecutive SEC loss for the 1st time since '92 & worst home loss (36-7 to LSU) since losing to Alabama 40-0 in '79. Zook is taking huge amounts of heat in his 1st yr & U can beat the ranch that the AD's job is also on the line if this ship doesn't right itself by the end of '03(if Fla waits that long). Would the Fla faithful trust the AD to do another hire if Zook turns into the fiasco it appears?
With Miami on the Gators schedule for '02,03 it's easy to see Fla as the 3rd best team in Fla, which is plenty embarassing, but the Swamp people could always point to the championship of the weak SEC as a rallying point. Now, if they get hammered by FSU & finish down the pike in the SEC they will make a move quickly. Gatorland will be enraged with the Independence Weedeater Bowl.
With Spurrier having difficulty in Washington, how much would Fla offer him to come back after '03? 5 million? 8 million? & with a 10 yr contract?

He is not a Steve Spurrier, that is for sure. Florida has rolled the dice and will have to live with their decision for awhile.

However, we are in the same boat. We have made our decision and will have to live with it for awhile.

Both coaches inherited teams with good material. If there is a drop-off in the programs at either school for this year from last year, it will have to be laid squarely at the feet of the new coaches.

No excuses in these situations. It is probably better for a coach to take over a program that is at the bottom, than one with winning records and good material in their respective conferences.

I agree, we appear to be "stuck" with Gailey...hope he turns out to be far better than he has demonstrated thus far but I don't have much confidence he will do so. He seems to be a Curry Clone with not much sense of urgency in winning.

I keep thinking next week is the week. Well it is either put up or shut up. The next two games are MUST wins.

IF and I STRESS IF, we can win the next two I think it will show some positives for the future.
