Is it possible to vote someone off this board for the good of GT? : D

I asked the admins if there was a limit that would be reached as far as this sort of ting. I haven't heard back from them. Beeware gave me a nice little smart-ass comment, though!(unusual, I know)

If my opinion counts, I'd say yes, we should be able to vote someone off. However, I don't feel that it's necessary in this case. Typicall it's up to the admins. On other boards, this sort of behavior would be warned a couple of times, then if it continued, banning. Not uncommon at all.

NO,

this issue was discussed in this thread

*if someone were attacking student athletes or just plain harassing then the problem would be addressed

Agreed. It's one thing if you disagree with someone. See my political posts with FearDaBee for an example. But we did not resort to petty name-calling or insults. We do not have a signature that directly insults everyone else on the board. We do not post to threads that have nothing to do with football, and start complaining about Braine and Gailey. We do not call everyone else pissants on a regular basis.

There is a difference between a discussion and hitting and running. Beeware never responds to anyone's questions. All they do is post a few insults, and sit back to laugh. This, in my opinion, is unacceptable behavior. It has become very unhealthy for the board. If you doubt this, look at the number of threads, not to mention the number of posts, regarding Beeware and their actions. I know for a fact I have come very close to leaving this board for good(snippit for beeware to cut and paste), just because I don't want to read the continual bashing of my school. However, there are good people here, and I enjoy being a part of the community.

I may be mistaken, but I think you can go to your personal profile and enter the names of any poster you would like to have invisible to you.

I have not verified this, but I think I saw this feature there.

As we grow these features will become more relevent.

But it was a good pickup Ah, I encourage everyone to review all the features here at stingtalk.

One of the best features is the active posts of the day.

I dont know if voting someone off the board is reasonable... afterall, it is pretty easy to just start again with another user ID... and I also think that the free flow of opinions, viewpoints, etc is a very good thing.... I appreciate the diversity of opinions... I do wish there was some way to turn on a filter to filter out posts of certain users... it could be left to the individuals discretion whether they wanted the filter on or off... opinions are a good thing... bashing is another... I would filter out the bashers...

jacketguy,
You make my signature and YOUR signature more accurate with every post YOU make.

gtfan,

I had read that. I agree with respecting, debating, and allowing others to SPEAK OUT their view point. In honesty that's not what is happening here though.

When I started this thread notice "

" at the end. That smile was meaning that this post was all in good fun.

Your link to earlier discussion got me thinking though about this. Someone is being clever in their attack of other people on this board. While you are calling in a way for us to be respectful of opinion. That's just the opposite of what's happening. It's one thing not to agree, but to be belligerent about it while insulting continuously is by no means being respectful of anyone's opinion. It's out of control.
