Do you think Reggie would have started over Nesbitt in this offense?

No... He wouldn't make good reads o.o

But then again, he was an amazing athlete.

JN is faster though.

Reggie was tough and fast, but not elusive. I think he would have been an A-back in this scheme.

Definitely an a-back. If he blocked, which we will never know.

He wasn't that fast in the 40, but he was tough as nails and always fought for the first down.

Reggie liked hitting people, so I'd think he'd block. I remember against Notre Dame he jacked the hell out of Zbaosdfijasofuodfjads on a QB sneak.

Remember the Uga game where RB carried the ball and was shown standing over their hot shot d-back Thornton, caption might have read 'Do you really want some more of me?':D

the real question is how would the following teams finish in a three legged race:

WR's: correy earls and bay bay
backs: dwyer and roddy jones
QB's: josh nesbitt and jaybo shaw
DB's: word daniels and burnett
LB's: griffin and jackson
DT's: and derrick morgan and michael johnson?

I say this would be the order: Backs, DB's, WR's, QB's, DT's, LB's

actually think you have it mixed up.

reggie was elusive, shifty more than fast.

In the combine he didn't break 4.65 or 4.6 in the 40 but ran one of the top shuttle times....

either way he could have been a good QB in this system. I don't think he would have problems with the reads. Gailey took a square peg in his round hole offense with reggie. Reads in the option are not pre-snap or coverage reads they are on the fly reads and that is something I think he would be good at....

but If Josh and Reggie are both sophs with the same history their freshman year...Josh beats him out. He is faster, bigger, better arm, and has picked up this offense well, despite what some want to believe :)

Do you think Reggie would have started over Nesbitt in this offense?

No, but if Reggie were here and Nesbitt weren't, Reggie would probably start over Shaw, provided he could make the right reads. Reggie had all the physical tools to run this offense.

I also agree that Reggie could have made an outstanding A back in this offense, as evidenced by him being picked up as a scrub WR in the NFL.

I wasn't talking flat out 40 speed. Josh is faster and more elusive than Reggie. But Reggie had good speed. But I don't remember Reggie making anyone flat out miss. But he would power through arm tackles or turn and take the hit on his terms.

I think Reggie would have been a good option QB. But I think he would have been a great A-back.

I'd start a one legged jackass over a one legged goat ... and both over RBall.

Reggie was not a great quarterback but he was a fighter and a good guy and a tough s-o-b and he wanted to win for Tech and he did score some big wins for Tech. I will never speak poorly of Reggie Ball.

This may shock some of you, but at times I have even been tempted to think that his failures were due in part to inept coaching.

I will most definitely speak poorly of Reggie's QB play.

Our coach definitely did not coach around his drawbacks and toward his strengths, that's for sure.

This system would have been better for him than Chan's. That said, I agree with the above posters that he'd a been a better A back.

Under PJ, Reggie would have been very good at one of several positions.

Ya know... I been thinkin bout this for some time... and this thread is the perfect opportunity for me to say...

REGGIE I FORGIVE YOU

It wasn't your fault... Gailey gets the blame.
