Is the ACC just a mediocre conference?

Tough loss today. Looking at the rest of our ACC schedule, I don't see anyone that we can't beat. I also don't see anyone that we can't lose to - maybe with the exception of Duke.

Before the days of the Big East additions I used to look at FSU as the cream of the crop in our conference.

Then it seemed like there was an alternating pecking order depending on the year between GT, Clemson, UVa, NC State, Maryland, maybe UNC

Duke and Wake usually brought up the rear.

Now it seems like no one is outstanding and no one is terrible except Duke, maybe NC State.

Have we reached parity in the conference? (ironic with all of these NFL coaches)

Can we really look year to year and see who will be outstanding? or even good.

the only things I see year to year are that Va. Tech will be near the top - generally because they don't beat themselves and win close games.

Duke will be near the bottom because they are Duke in football.

Everyone else is up for grabs.

Thoughts

If this was the SEC they'd be talking about "depth."

Their worst team would paste the ACC's worst team.

Ditto on their best team.

The middle pack would be interesting, but top to bottom the SEC is a much better football conference this year than the ACC.

I don't know about that...

Duke is not AS terrible this year. LSU vs BC would be interesting on a neutral field.

IMO LSU would annihilate BC.

BC is a solid football team with a great QB.

LSU quite literally is a werewolf with a chainsaw for a dick.

The ACC is down --Miami, VT and FSU are not there normal selves. BC seems to be the best the conference has to offer --but after that who knows.

That's what's so frustrating --the opportunity is there (correction: WAS there) to have a very good season. GT may or may not be as good as I thought they could/would be this year --but they lost 2 games because basically a punt returner couldn't catch a punt and an o-lineman held when you were lined up for a makeable FG --and I might add that your HC decided to run on 3rd and 20 instead of giving yor players an opportunity to make a play.

GT is now 1-3 with only Duke keeping them out of the Coastal cellar --and that is just damn ridiculous if you ask me.

LSU would decimate BC regardless of where they played. I would say something like 52-6.
I doubt it. You're basing this on the VT-LSU game played at Baton Rouge.

I'd say it would be closer. If LSU won it would be more like 28-20.

There is no way in hell LSU gives up 20 points. BC would be lucky to even get to the red zone once.

LSU's D, statistically, is allowing like 1 yard per play so far this year.

As much as I hate them. VThug is starting to look good.

As far as the ACC goes though next season it should be a much stronger conference. UNC has one of the best young QB in the country. FSU is on there way up. VThug is on its way up. Maryland and GT(If we can Gailey) should be good.I cant wait to see Dwyer and Nesbitt in the same backfield and Thomas will only get better. Clemson and UVA are in the same boat as we are both need a coaching change. But all in all I think the ACC will be much better next season.
