I got this message on my answering machine from a guy claiming to represent "Georgia Tech Football". His name, he said, was Brian Cole?/ Coleman? He left an 800 number and extension# for me to call. I have looked on RW.com for this guy in the GTAA directory and cannot find him. What do you guys think? Scam or no scam? Have any of you gotten a similar call? I haven't yet returned the call.

If you can't find him on the website, then I would assume he isn't legitimate.

If you're curious, call him from your work phone. That's what I do any time I'm suspicious.

If some guy wants to steal my company's identity, or bill some crazy bill to the company line, he'll have a hard time fighting that battle.

I seriously doubt it's a scam. Is the 800 number a GT number? If so, call it or call a Gt number and ask. If you have not paid your Tech fund invoice they are calling. they have quite a few folks work there not on the website. Student workers change annually at least.

I dont believe it is

GT outsources their ticket sales. I got several calls last year about signing up for season tickets. All came from an 800 number. I called back and actually eventually purchased season tickets from him. Talked to someone in the ticket office and they confirmed that they outsource some of their sales.

A word to the wise about it - they reps dont actually know much about the ticket process (or at least didnt last year). Buddy ended up promising me seats in a section that I did not receive - several lengthy phone calls with the ticket office solved my complaint, but just be careful of any promises they make.

mods - yellowbritchies should be banned. I'm just saying.
