Not sure what the rule is on linking to paid content. MyAJC is running a sample set of articles for free before upgrade.

I will leave this quote, though.

If the Yellow Jackets continue the no-huddle experiment that they debuted against North Carolina on Saturday, the next step could be to speed it up. The first chance would be Saturday’s game at No. 6 Clemson.

“Just evaluate and see,” coach Paul Johnson said. “You can always mix it in. More than likely, if we were to do it again, it’d be to go fast.”

Against North Carolina, Johnson proved willing to embrace the risk of no-huddle. With the Jackets desperate for victory and facing a top-10 opponent in one of the most formidable home-field advantages in the country, Johnson might be open to taking another gamble.

“If he calls it, we’ll go execute it,” Thomas said.

as the game dictates it, it is definitely something we can implement effectively I think.

Against the Tar Heels, Tech operated its no-huddle at a pace similar to when it has huddled. In the first four games, the Jackets ran 2.45 plays (offensive snaps plus punts and kickoffs) per minute of possession. Against the Tar Heels, the pace was actually slightly slower, 2.22 plays per minute.

 That just defines this season. Our no-huddle, up-tempo offense is slower than our typical offense.

I think the difference is no up tempo... we only ran no huddle and made the checks from the sideline since JT is having trouble making them under center. Part of the "make it simple" strategy I suppose

Ruh row.

It gives JT a chance to check with sideline on what to call as well as limiting substitutions on the defense. I would call it no-huddle, but not up-tempo.

If we go up tempo, do we have less time to lay down and bleed awhile?

Dude, you really need to lighten up. The season's not over yet and we still have a lot to pla--aaaaand we just lost another AB to injury.

If we go up tempo, will the team be back in Atlanta in time for ice cream without sprinkles before Dairy Queen closes?
