Isn't it time for Lewis to play CB?

This may not apply for the UVA or Clemson games, but isn't it time to start getting Lewis some reps back at CB? We have to be better with Burnett at S and Lewis at CB than what we are doing right now. And I'm not trying to throw anybody under the bus, it's a team loss with team defensive scheming. Put Nesbitt at S and Lewis at CB.

Sorry I should have been more clear. A guy like Nesbitt could be moved into the two deep at safety if we're desperate, but something has to be done at cb depth.

I bet Nesbitt is a better cover corner than Clark.
He may very well be. Regardless, we need to pressure the QB before the WR has a chance to get downfield vs Clark. Our major malfunction Saturday was not coverage, it was pressure.

Coverage is always going to suffer when you rush 6.

I can not disagree that if we rush 6 we really need to get close enough to at least hint that we will touch their QB. I wonder sometimes if the original 4 DL know that the blitz is coming and generally just wrap up their OL. I mean we get zero push up the middle.

BUT, it'd be nice to develop some CB's who can shut down a guy all on their own without a big rush.

I'd like to see us occasionally rush 3, put Michael Johnson into coverage, and double everybody in the pattern.

Lewis did actually play corner in non-nickel situations for a couple of snaps in the 2nd half (late 3rd or early 4th quarter I believe) when Roberson was shaken up after a play. Jamal and Clark were the corners with Burnett and Jones at saftey.

So how about using that full time (with Word-Daniels in for Clark, of course), with Roberson coming in nickel formations? I have little doubt that Lewis would be our best corner, and Roberson would be a nifty sub since he can play corner and saftey.

I know Tenuta has said that he doesn't want to move an all-conference saftey; but with the play of Burnett, maybe the idea is more feasible now.

Reminds me of seeing John Abraham play some damn good coverage on Jones-Drew on Sunday (if any of you still watch the Falcons).
