It is all meaningless (IMPORTANT READ)

When the ACC expanded to 12 teams the lords of the ACC cam up with the idea of having 2 leagues with a "natural" rival.

Tech has Clemson.

Wake has Duke every year while BC has Virginia Tech.

Think about this previous sentence. When BC signed on - they agreed to play what was then and now and probably will be for the near and mid-future a strong Hokie team. This while Wake gets to play to horrid Dukesters (OK - I know the don't totally suck, but you they do). THIS GIVES WAKE A HUGE ADVANTAGE EVERY YEAR - RENDERING THE ENTORE ACC RACE MEANINGLESS - that is if you have even an enzyme of fairness in you!

Imagine if the NFL told the Falcons that starting next year they were going to implement something similar and they were going to have Atlanta play New England from the AFC twice a year (that is the same ratio - 2:16 = 1:8) while division mates Carolina get to play the Jets twice a year. Would even the dumb-ass Falcon mgt. buy into that - NO Frickin' WAY!!!

While we are at it - I am sick of all the BOGUS games vs. Division 2 schools. The ACC should instanteously institute a 10-game ACC schedule - allowing for only 2 games outside the ACC. And have 1 divsion with the 1st place team hosting the 2nd place team for the ACC Championship. This would reduce somewhat the incredibly stupid and unfair system that exists now where if you finish, say, 6-2 with another team but they beat you in their own building during the 2nd week of the season by 1 point - YOU LOSE THE TIE-BREAKER!!! How totally stupid and unethical is this?!?! Yet we all live with it - because we are blind sheep following established schedules. We, the fans, are to blame because we accept the horrific scheduling situation.

Yet here in the totally unfair and corrupt, bogus world of College Sports it is "business as usual".

Many of you will counter by saying that we can't control the schedule / it is the way it is. that's true because we are all lazy sacks of excrement.

You will say - well we don't make the schedule we just play the games, etc... it's time we got off our butts and do something about this!!!

I am a big TECH fan - I want TECH to win. This is not a sour grapes post. Just one man with a viewpoint.

P.S. Nothing is going to change because all the team inclusing TECH want to keep a minimum of 2 high school teams on the schedule to ensure going to a meaningless bowl game in Outer Mongolia (not Inner Mongolia) on TV on channel 8745 at 3:00 AM. Don't you all know that the 75% of Bowl Games exist because of the 2% male demographic that willl bet on any football game - even if it is girls football!?!? There could be no one in attendance at a Bowl Game - it doesn't matter- the TV money is there - because of the betting public - not the fanbase. It is all so stupid.....

It would piss me off if we quit playing Clemson every year. I only wish we could play FSU every year too. Auburn and Alabama too for that matter.

Labeling this as "IMPORTANT READ" instantly detracted from its importance by approx. 68.34893493487%.

Jascket Dan - what is wrong with my Post? and Rodzilla you criticizing my "Important Read" detracted from your criticism 68.34893493487% (coincidentally the same exact pct. as mine!)

Nobody plays Division II schools.

Nobody plays two FCS Division (formerly Division I-AA) schools "every year," because only one of those victories count towards bowl eligibility. You especially should have caught that, since that's why Tech wasn't bowl eligible until after they achieved 7 wins last week versus FSU.

If you played 10 games in a 12 team conference, then there would be no way to guarantee the two best teams played in a championship game since there wouldn't be a true round robin schedule. It's entirely possible to have 3, possibly 4, teams with the same record and since it's apparently now unethical to have a tie-breaker by head to head match up (possibly the most confusing thing you said after telling me this rambling mess was supposed to be important), I guess tiddly winks becomes the new tie-breaker.

The rest might make sense with regards to the schedule, ya know if we weren't playing MSU and Ole MIss as OOC foes in coming seasons along with playing UGA every year.

I think mostly they got the "rivalry" games right. Tech vs Clemson is better than any of the alternatives in the Atlantic. Which ones don't make sense?

Md vs UVa (neighboring states)
GT vs Clemson (neighboring states)
NC State vs UNC (NC state schools)
Wake vs Duke (NC private schools)
F$U vs ThugU (FL scum schools)
BC vs VT (Big East throwback)

They wouldn't need the special rivalry games if they simply divided the conference geographically form the beginning. The set it up to separate Miami and FSU, evidently assuming those two schools would dominate the ACC forever and ever.

Thngs change and power is cyclical. They should have just split the conference into North and South. Then we'd play Clemson, Miami and FSU every year.

Interesting post albeit a wii anal.

I want a shot at Clemson and FSU every year. I also want to see Tennesse and Auburn EVERY YEAR. Alabama? Right before the dawgs. Every year.
