two loss team in the polls. I am assuming it is the timing of the losses.

UGA: Early loss to 6-6 UScar, now looks worse than it did at midseaon. Crushed by UT, now ranked 14th (will drop after today). They have 2 victories over teams currently ranked.

VT: Crushed by LSU early, now ranked 5th. Loss to BC, now ranked 12th. They have 3 victories over teams currently ranked

LSU: Loss to Kentucky in 3 OT's, currently unranked but a 7 win team. Loss to Ark., unranked but an 8 win team with a Heisman trophy candidate. They have 4 victories over teams currently ranked.

USC: Bad loss to poor Stanford team. A banged up USC team with their QB loss to Oregon by a TD when they were top 5 and healthy with a Heisman candidate at QB. They have 1 victory over teams currently ranked.

Mizzou: If they lose tonight they apparently will drop below the puppies in the polls despite the fact they loss twice to OU, a top 10 team. They have 1 victory over teams currently ranked.

Do you see what they see?
 
When there's alot of talk going on around your team and you're winning games alongside all of the gimmicks you're pulling out - your ranking is going to be higher than the folks that come out and play solid fundamental football and just win games.
 
This is why human polls are stupid.

I wonder if UGA will get passed on some of the computer polls tomorrow.
 
2 factors:

1 ( and most important) - they lost early.
2 Beat UF and got a lot of attention. If I remember correctly they jumped close to 10 spots with that win.
 
Its complete BS if they're in the same spot tommorrow then I think I'm going to be pretty close to calling our the media for conspiracy to create a playoff system. They saw the oppertunity to do something so stupid as making a team that doesnt even win its division able to be in the BCS champ game and knew it would cause everyone to go nuts.

Bottom line, both LSU and VT should be ranked above them tommorrow if the pollsters have any sense at all, both have better records and both have an additional late season win agianst a high high quality team. And with the way they're playing USC should be right there with them, and probably 1 notch above since they're a much more complete team.
 
With WVU getting beat and Mizzou going down, the BCS is going to take a major hit if UGA moves up and stays ahead of three two-loss Conference Champions (OK, LSU, VT0, including their own.
 
The worst thing is that the mutts have a chance for the national title.
 
As far as I'm concerned LSU, VT, and Oklahoma should all jump the mutts in the next poll.
 
Inherently mediocre teams like us with no history of success have no business even talking about the BCS. ;)
 
LSU, VT, Oaklahoma, and USC. I was hoping the mutts would have a chance to get their butss whupped by southern Cal.
