I\'ve never been more embarrassed in my TECH life

We looked better under Bill Lewis. This team needs 3 promotions just to suck. I'VE HAD IT. I'm G.D. sick of this crap. We give up at the first sign of trouble. We're mailing it in. We're getting waxed by some of the worst programs in college football. We're headed for an alltime low. This is total BS and I'm sick and dam tired of it. Once again any momentum we get under one coach we piss away under another. Our recruiting is stinking it up. Once again we've got to start all over.

We have gone from being the 2nd most followed team in this city(remember the AJC poll), to the team nobody gives a dam about. By November the Hawks will draw bigger crowds. I'm e-mailing the A.D. twice a week until something is done about it. There isn't one decent football program in the nation that would tolerate this garbage. We will never play with the big boys until we act like the big boys, and refuse to put up with this embarrassment. This coaching staff is a joke and the decision makers better recognize that fact in a hurry. I am absolutely livid.

I wouldn't call UMD a bad program. They are the
ACC champ, played in a BCS bowl last season, have
Friedgen at the helm, and have only lost to FSU,
Florida, and Notre Dame in the past two seasons.

GT has some issues to deal with, no doubt, but UMD
is a good solid football team.

Wake will go to a bowl this season.

Clemson...well...we should have won that one.

maryland came to play and they MADE HALFTIME ADJUSTMENTS. why cant the jackets or at least help the team some. i have yet to see a second half that is better than the first

CHAN IT IS TIME TO HAVE A GOOD GAME ( HINT PUT SOMEONE IN WHO HAS A GRASP OF THE OFFENSE AND CAN PUT THE DANG OLE BALL IN SOMEONES HAND

this team is athletic but gosh you have to wonder after the missed tackles after the half where are we going i mean come on we dont look better from the first of the year

We should have beaten this team with both hands tied behind our backs. Md. is not bad but, my gosh, they did not look like world beaters to me.

As far as a program goes, Md. has a lot more respect since Fridge took over. We have lost a lot of respect since -- took over.

Embarrassed? Were you around for the Furman loss & tie. That was embarassing. As for maryhadalittleland, they beat us handily but they are an average team in an average conference and we are allowing ouselves to be "dumbed down."

AL, you must be VERY young ...

... if the MD loss is your worst embarassment in Tech sports.

It was bad, to be sure, but we've had others (in football and sports) which make it look almost decent.

The loss to Furman has already been mentioned. That was certainly a low-point on our football roller coaster ride, and the loss that finally motivated the mass of Tech fans to DEMAND a change. Sometimes, that's necessary.

I still have to take an aspirin every time I think about the 69-14 whiping ND laid on us in '77. More recently, there are the 51-0 and 41-10 woodsheddings by FSU in the BL era, followed by the 42-10, 49-3, and 38-0 thashings in the O'L era.

There were many humiliations during the BL era, but we were so numbed by pain that they didn't feel that bad at the time.

How about the kicking PSU put on us in the Kickoff Classic when we were coming off an NC year and ranked 6/8? (the final score is not indicative of how bad they beat us)?

UGAG laid a 44-7 on us during the BC years, culminating a 1-10 season. That was a very low point. Yet we let BC stay 5 more seasons after 1-9-1 and 1-10 seasons, for a final W/L record of 42.3%.

I could go further back, but that would be showing just how much of an "-oldtimer" I am.

In basketball, remember getting blown out by some nothing school (was it Hofstra?) at Madison Square Garden not that many years back?

Not trying to minimize this very embarrasing loss on national TV, but not sure it would even be in my top 10 of most embarrasing losses.
