What's the scoop on Jabari? Is it a two game suspension or did he get dismissed from the team?

My understanding is it's a 2 game suspension for "violation of team rules". He'll be back unless he "does something else".

That's good. We should have him back and dominating against the dwags...

He hasn't done much this year but if we don't have Gostis we need him on the line. If nothing else he takes up a ton of space and maybe a few uga backs will run into him

Not sure if serious; Jabari has been a disappointment this season after all the pre-season hype.

I thought his play this year, combined with the ellipsis at the end, made it obvious I was being sarcastic, but I suppose not.

It's an old myth, but JHD played on the scout team when he was academically ineligible. Does it hurt our defense when all of the redshirted players spent time defending our offense on the scout team versus spending a year against a "normal" offense?

(CPJ's head explodes)

I hate it for Jabari but in terms of output, who knows, maybe Kallon steps up. He's had his share of hype in the past, if I remember correctly.

Many say no, many (like the awipe pollock) say it does.

I think results on the field are the best indicator. Disregarding the 08 great D line, how have we held up vs the run and how has our pass rush been since then?

Should provide the answer.

Also remember, the next time somebody on a website hypes a youngster, perhaps beyond reason, that they were also likely the same people dissing Tevin and saying Vad was the be all / end all.

My complaints defensively under Paul Johnson's DC hires have been far more pass-oriented than run. It could be that our long-term ineffectiveness against the pass is indicative of some small side-effect from our scout team practices, I honestly have no idea, but I wouldn't call it a primary factor by any stretch.

No, he stood out and was a head-buster on the scout team D because our offense is so easy to stop. Amirite.

Actually, this is different than the garbage Pollack and co. spout off every year. Pollack thinks that our varsity defense is hampered from "practicing against the option" even though the majority of their prep is against a scout team running the opponents' offense, just like every other team.

This makes some sense, because a scout team player legitimately does spend the majority of their time practicing against our offense. Still, if it's that big of a deal then it should be affecting other teams just as much. There are a wide variety of offenses out there - are we to believe that Georgia's defense is bad because they only practice against a pro-style offense, when many of their opponents run different styles?
